Okay so I am trying to set up a RUDIMENTARY layout of Redencion House. I've only done the first floor thus far (with a free trial of a program called SmartDraw), and I feel like I'm going to need more floor space on the first floor to justify how large I think the second floor will be.

So, there should probably be another room, like a family room, but I'm not sure where to put it. Here's what I have so far:

expanded to add a family room off the back, and a 2 car attached garage (there is also a small detatched garage in the back yard)

That's excellent work, Holly! And it works very well for our humble home on Banyon Street. This will be a such a helpful writing aid.

I think this might work.

its a little ridiculous actually, the image I made in photoshop is better :p I just didn't want to screencap it all over again after I added windows lol

With Holly's permission, I'm working on a new, larger floor plan... stay tuned! Once I get the rough done, I'll be eager for suggestions!

EDIT: Rough draft done! Tell me what you think. :)

Not included: There is a porch in front of the foyer and part of Bedroom 1, and there is a stoop behind the double doors by the breakfast nook. There is also, as Holly said, an unattached garage in the back yard. The driveway leading to the garage runs along the east (right) side of the house.

I love it - it looks so good! :D

I love it! But you should give Ana that first floor bedroom to herself. It's the least she deserves.

Unfortunately, we had already established that Anna's bedroom is on the second floor. I was thinking the first-floor bedroom is probably open for now as a guest room until someone needs it.

Thanks! :)

Awww...oh well :)

There isn't by chance a little greenhouse out back, is there? I think I saw mention of a garden somewhere, so I was curious :)

We're in California! We don't need no greenhouses.

Or something.

Another point of clarification - this floor plan is probably much bigger than is realistic, even for a ten-bedroom house. Things are most likely more cramped at Redencion than this plan makes it appear. It's possible I could get things down to a more realistic scale, but I did this in one sitting, and I'm no architect. The important thing is the space relationships, so when we talk about the hallway from the family room to the kitchen, or going out the kitchen door, or sitting in the first-floor study I just invented, we know where we are.

I may see about doing a second-floor plan some time tomorrow. :)
