I'm engaged!

Took my girlfriend for a romantic evening last night. We checked into the Hilton in the afternoon, did a bit of shopping, went to see Paul (the movie, not a relative) had a nice dinner at one of our favourite restaurants (fajitas for the win!) and then back at the hotel I popped the question.

The deed was accompanied by a nice wedge of cheese in the form of my iPhone playing Adam Sandler's 'Grow Old With You'. She said yes amid tears :)

So to get rid of those tears I switched to Hall and Oates 'You Make My Dreams Come True' and gave her a big kiss. (And before you question the song choices - we love the Eighties and The Wedding Singer is one of our shared favourites, :p)

We then ventured downstairs as planned for a drink in the hotel bar, and received two complimentary glasses of champagne which I politely sipped and posed for a photo, before palming off the vile stuff to my now-fiance and ordered a glass of something else which I can't remember but it tasted better!

Although no date has been set just yet, the honeymoon destination has: the Park Hyatt hotel in Tokyo :) The missus knows how much I want to go there and so she said that's were we'll go :)

We've decided to get married in the summer of 2013. The missus originally said next summer but I've convinced her that saving for a house AND a wedding just isn't doable in that amount of time.

But score one for the home team. I get to pick my own wedding ring - I choose The One Ring! And she was cool with it :) Ossum!!!!! Now if I can only convince her to have not a ring but a bracelet. Imagine getting married using The Ring of Power and the Bracelet of Anubiiiiiissssss!!!!!! She's leagues beneath my throne of geekiness so I doubt it'll come to pass. But maybe I can get her to wear something Bleach-related one day when we go to Tokyo. I'll have to upload the video of her Bankai which took a lot of effort for her to commit to. Hehe :p

Finally just got home after my engagement party which ended 4 hours ago. Ended up going back to a friends house for a chillaxing time. Had a thoroughly awesome evening, it was great to see friends and family all out at the same venue for my fiance and myself. I also took the opportunity to pop the other big question and asked Droo to be my best man. Safe to say I always knew he'd say yes.
