I think the Survivor Pool is officially over... unless part of the challenge was to avoid picking eventual playoff teams? :uhoh

NO (W) @ SEA - I can't see any way Seattle wins this game unless the Saints turn the ball over about 6 times.
NYJ @ IND (W) - I expect a close game, but in crunch time, Manning gets it done at home.

Sunday, January 9
BAL (W) @ KC - The Chiefs are the most improved team in the league, but they're not quite on the level of the other AFC big boys yet. The Ravens D will be too much.
GB (W) @ PHI - This game comes down to the Packers defense vs. Michael Vick. I expect Green Bay to blitz Vick early to find out how healthy he really is, and send the house at him if they see he's still banged up. I'm cautiously optimistic about the Packers winning this game. Last years debacle against Arizona is still too fresh for me to be more confident.

And people said the 'Hawks didn't belong in the playoffs. Methinks they are playing with something to prove and shutting a lot of people up, even if they don't end up winning this.

I still think that having a home game as a 7-9 team is complete garbage and basically devalues the regular season. I'm okay with them making the playoffs... they won their division. I do think that re-seeding for the playoffs should be on the table for the new collective bargaining agreement though.

I don't like the idea of re-seeding for a few reasons. This is unprecedented, and changing the system based on one fluky season seems to me like an overreaction. Say we have an 11-5 or 12-4 wild card playing at a 10-6 division champion. Do we really want to take the home game away from the champion, knowing how much strength of your division can influence the record?

Take away the distinction of the division champion, and you take away some of the significance of the divisional games. They ought to be the most important games on your schedule. If seeding is going to hinge on win-loss record alone, then every team should be playing the same schedule, or you're going to have unfair results.

EDIT: Holy crap, Marshawn Lynch just had the best run I've seen all season! Seahawks up 41-30 with just over three minutes to go!

An absolute shocker in Seattle. :eek

The Saints defense played terrible that is why they lost. The Seahawks will get killed next week by either team. I wouldn't give them a chance in those games.

The Seahawks did beat the Bears in Chicago earlier this season. I'm just sayin'...

Funny thought: if the Packers win this afternoon, they'll go to the Falcons, and the Seahawks will go to Chicago. If the Seahawks and Packers both win in the divisional round, then the NFC Championship will be in Seattle.

I don't really think that'll happen, but as much as the Saints defense laid an egg on Saturday, Matt Hasselbeck played one of the best games of his career, and he deserves a lot of credit for that win. Those deep passes were picture-perfect, and he made several other clutch throws under pressure. If Seattle wins any more, they'll need Hasselbeck to keep playing at that level.

It wasn't just the Saints Defense that was bad. I watched a bit of the third quarter, and saw Brees throw three near-interceptions in a row. The Seahawk's D was definitly primed in that game.

EDIT: Oh yeah, sorry JMC, better luck next year. And Dragon's prediction is one step closer to coming true.
