Max looked out the window of a high rise building out onto a city that looked almost Barren. Unlike Coruscant this city did not have vehicles and people scurrying all about it. Most people only commuted to and from their jobs leaving only short periods of dense traffic. Then leaving big empty space of nothing throughout the day.

This World was perhaps once beautiful and lush but now it was dead stripe mined to a barren waste land beyond the city. In the city smoke stacks and pollutants clogged the upper atmosphere so that from the surface you could barely make out its sun. Once a month they would activate the weather control system to wash away those pollutant but still the sky seemed permanently scarred.

This place was far from the farm lands she had grown up on, on Little Kessel. It was almost alien compared to the city of Coruscant she had migrated to. She continued to look out onto the bleak landscape of Bonadan on the outer rim. She took a sip from her glass of so sort of spice rum mixed with Muja juice as she waited for Raymond to arrive.

A tall lanky darker toned man in a pin striped suit walked in through the double doors of the office. He stood there just for a moment just in the entry way buttoning up the top button of his suit. He smiled to himself with as he looked up at the blonde woman in his office staring out into the dreary city.

"Miss Cyn." He waited for her to turn and face him before continuing. "Good morning or should I say late evening since it is about midnight on Coruscant right now, then again maybe you still go by Little Kessel time?"

"Heh."

She feigned a laugh at his Sarcasm before turning to great him with a serious smile not showing teeth. She took another sip of her drink as she looked Raymond up and down for a moment.

"Morning works I'm getting use to space lag these days. So how is um..?

She could remember Raymond’s wife’s name for the life of her it started with D or B. It was hard to keep track since she had known him he had been married three or four times already and twice before she knew him.

"How is number six then?"

She said giving a half apologetic smile for forgetting her name. Not that she really cared that she had forgotten, she really didn't care about Raymond’s personal life. Their friendship if you could call it that was more of a business transaction then a social entanglement.

"Number seven."

He spoke as he moved towards his desk half smiling at her not remembering his now ex-wife’s name. He was already working on number eight not that there were any in line but he knew himself well enough that there would be a number eight. He was the type that fell in love quickly then lost interest soon after being married. The only one of his wives that mattered was number one and she had died and he would never get her back as much as he wished he could.

"Her name is Carla and we are no matter married as of a week ago."

He sat down in his chair behind his desk looking quickly at some paper that cluttered the front. He set them neatly to the side after glancing them over and then leaned forward putting his hands folded in front of him as he stared up at the still standing woman. He motioned slightly for her to sit down.

"How are things going working for the Empress Tarkin?"

"It's funny the job sounded so exciting on paper. Lots of travel you get to see the Galaxy and getting to meet high society people."

Max moved to the chair taking yet another sip of her drink before setting it down on the edge of the desk. She removed the brief case she had brought with her from the chair setting it on the floor at her feet. She sat down slowly crossing her legs as she did so.

"After a few months I have only been to Kuat just another industrialized planet like this one and Curoscant. I work long hours as a paper pusher and there statement of working a long side Empress was just an over exaggeration."

Max reached out for her glass as Raymond just sat there listening to her gripe about her job. It wasn't the even close to the worst job anyone could have the pay and benefits made up for the pages of lies they tried to sell the job on.

"It is good step in a career but it's definitely not job someone should make a lifetime commitment too. I pretty much hand the daily schedule to the Empress and that's all I see of her for the day. Other than that I turn people away from meetings and get passed notes which I have to decide there relevance before turning them over to some smug up and coming political Kid who hands them over to Miranda. Yet the pay is good the hours suck hell I practically had to commit murder to get time off to come here."

"Maybe you should come work for me then?" He said have jokingly with a smile.

He knew she wouldn't that and being his secretary would be a huge pay cut not to mention a bad career move. It would ruin her chances of just about any opportunity that might arise after she would leave and the Imperials would make sure of that. Icarus Corporation didn't have the best record when it came to the imperials although it wasn't completely sabotaged they still where not cast in the best light. Mostly thanks to Tagge Icarus was considered bad seed in the corporate arena.

"So you work a lot does that mean you don't have a social life or man in your life?"

"Yeah sure coming to work for there is nothing like a little career suicide right?"

She smiled and then took another sip of her drink. She would never work for Icarus even if it was the last job in the galaxy and it wasn't because of it’s less the impeccable record. Honestly she didn't want to work for Raymond anymore then she already was. It was bad enough she owed him what she did and he wouldn't take credits for the loans and favor's he gave her.

"No man, although some of Miranda's personal guards are super-hot."

Oh god why did she just say that, she brought her hand up to cover her face in embracement. Yeah she should stop drinking right about now she thought to herself before she blurted out more stuff Raymond didn't need to know. They were her for business not idle chit Chat anyway.

Raymond lifted one eye brow as she started to talk about Miranda's personal guard. As much as he would like to get pertinent information about her guard detail so he could sell such information, them being hot as Max put it was not exactly helpful. That was his main reason for engaging in idle chit chat rather than getting straight to business.

It wasn't that he didn't give a crap about Max personal life she was someone whom he did business with. So her welfare was important but the social talk was more for his own benefit then for Max. It would put her more at easy as would the alcohol and get her to give up more than she normally would. Some of it might turn out to be valuable to the right buyer.

"Well I do have a son you know."
