Yeah, editing post when it contains games already played is a nono. I remember he picked the Eagles though, so no harm done in this case (everyone picked the Eagles). :)

The Packers throw-back uniforms are incredibly ugly. :x

Man the Titans suck, they may not win a game the rest of the season. Fisher should take the blame for getting Moss and the way he has lost his players. The Chiefs beat Denver in an ugly game, but I will take the 10-6 win.
Edit
The Colts look awful, I think they might finally miss the playoffs. I can't see them beating Jacksonville in two weeks. And the Raiders are beating up the Chargers it is looking ugly there. This is bad for the Chargers put them two games behind the Chiefs if they lose.
Edit
The Raiders beat the Chargers putting them in third place two games behind the Chiefs. If they lose next week to the Chiefs they will be eliminated from the playoffs. I like the Chiefs chance now of winning the division. The Cowboys won in OT decimating the Colts playoff chances. The Falcons and Bucs are in a great game right now.

We had the OAK-SD game on one channel and the DAL-IND game on the other. Flipping back and forth between those 2 games was painful. :ohno

They only won because the Colts are playing very bad. They have looked awful the last 4 weeks. I have a big question why is the Eagles-Cowboys game on next Sunday instead of the Chargers-Chiefs? The latter game is a bigger game in terms of playoff implications. The Cowboys are only playing spoiler at this point.

The Ravens have now gotten away with two egregious personal fouls. First Haloti Ngata cold-cocked Ben in the nose on the Steelers' first possession - the Steelers reported it wasn't broken, but I don't know how else it got into the shape of a banana. I don't believe it was intentional, but they flag you for lightly brushing the back of the quarterback's head these days.
And now a Ravens linebacker speared Heath Miller helmet-to-helmet as he was going down for a ball, the very definition of going to the head of a defenseless receiver and a hit far worse than the one that earned James Harrison a $75,000 fine. No flag in this season where refs are urged to err on the side of safety. Where the heck is the consistency, Ray Anderson?
Jedi Master Carr
Dec 5th, 2010, 09:48:11 PM
The refs probably just missed, honestly those penalties are becoming judgment calls from what I have seen.
Dragon
Dec 5th, 2010, 10:09:05 PM
I can see the first one being missed at full speed, though it's embarrassing to have the material evidence right there on Ben's face. The second, however, simply CANNOT be missed. The ref was right there, and this is a special point of emphasis this season. Compare this game to how tightly they called the Steelers against the Raiders, or the Jets against the Bengals, or just about any team that prides itself on physical defense. This is just another example of what a poor job the NFL is doing of policing itself.
EDIT: Polamalu comes through again with a big turnover, Woodley returns it to the 10, and Isaac Redman breaks two tackles on a dump-off pass to score the go-ahead TD! Come on Steelers D, time to seal it!

Really? Chargers/KC vs Cowboys/Eagles? That's a pretty easy answer. Bigger fan base - more people watch - more money. I could break it down more if you want... But to be honest, I don't care about KC or San Diego, and that's pretty much how most people think that aren't on the west coast.

I think it is unfortunate when that game means more. The Cowboys are done, they have nothing to play for except spoiler. The Chargers and Chiefs are fighting for the division and it sucks I can't watch them. I am afraid CBS will put the Pats and Bears on around here. I wish I had Direct TV so I could say screw you to the local affiliates. In other news, the Broncos fired Josh McDaniels

I guess the cheating scandal finally did him in.

I always check the network broadcast maps at the506.com (http://the506.com/sports/?p=458) to see what games my local stations are broadcasting each week. They're usually updated Tuesday or Wednesday. It's especially handy for me because I'm right between the markets for Cincinnati and Dayton and get the Fox affiliates from both, and sometimes they broadcast different games.
I definitely understand your frustration, JMC. I'm pretty sick of watching the Cowboys myself. Hopefully the Chiefs will earn themselves some national TV appearances next season.
Jedi Master Carr
Dec 6th, 2010, 09:22:53 PM
I will check that site out tomorrow to see if the Chiefs are playing here. Luckily, the Titans play on Thursday so that should allow them to show more games in this area. Otherwise I have to listen to the radio broadcast over the internet, which is better than nothing. I do think the Chiefs will get more national attention next year. I am sure after a winning season they will have a few prime time games.
Oh I am shocked at how the Pats are dominating the Jets right now. I picked them to win but I expected a close game with the Pats eking out a win.

Dec 7th, 2010, 12:58:30 AM
I didn't think it would end in a very close game, but I didn't think it would be a blowout either. The Jets seem to be running on empty for their momentum tank as of the past couple of weeks. Oakland finally went into a win station to jump start theirs again.

Oakland is going to have trouble making the playoffs. They need the Chiefs to really struggle to make it.

Several no-shows this week... I'm dropping Morgan and Mu from the list, since they've missed a few weeks now. Holly, in the past when someone has missed the early games, we've given them a choice between the worst record minus one and the worst record for the early games minus one plus the rest of their picks. In your case, the worst record minus one (10-6, good grief this was a high-scoring round) is one game better (than 5-3 for the early games plus 4-4 for the rest). Also, it's only one game worse than your picks would have been had they been on time.
In other news, Anne Phoenix has tied Ryan Pode's survivor streak of seven games! Of course, Ryan's already the champion, but I figure longest streak will be good for runner-up honors. Yog is just one game behind Anne.

I thought longest streak during regular season won regardless of whether or not someone got it later in the season rather than earlier in the season, which was the point of continuing it in the first place? O_o

Which is why I stopped after I was wrong after the second week. Every survivor league I've been in/know of you go until you pick wrong. Last one to stand wins. Once you pick wrong, you are done. End 'o story. You can buy back in, and go from there, but it's usually only one buy-back.
