He will be remembered for his funny moments from Airplane and Naked Gun. He was one funny actor.

He really was a rare breed...so good in serious roles, and then so damn funny in things like Airplane and The Naked Gun.
I just saw somebody point something out on Twitter that I hadn't thought of...what a bad year for fans of Airplane. Peter Graves, Barbara Billingsley, and now Leslie Nielsen. All gone in the same year.
:cry
I AM serious. And don't call me Shirley.

Such a sad loss. But the laughs that man gave me! He was brilliant!

LOL! In Scary Movie 3 when the alien pee's through his finger. And Leslie Nielsen says 'We're not so different after all!' and does the same thing. I nearly pissed myself.

As Leslie Nielsen crosses through the Pearly Gates, a chorus of angels greets him with, "Hey Look! It's Enrico Pallazzo!"

Now here's a man who passing genuinely leaves the world a poorer place.
Airplane is still by far the funniest movie I can remember seeing.
