Lykaios - since you posted just ten minutes after kick-off in the Detroit game, I'm willing to give that to you. Especially since I'm pretty sure everyone picked New England.

I picked the Patriots, but I hate 'em, so I'm actually loving the Lions dominating the game right now. :eee

Good grief. Alphonso Smith of the Lions has been beaten on each of the Patriots' four TDs. Think you might want to sit him down for a while, coach?

Well, the Lions came out with a lot of intensity and managed to get the Patriots back on their heels, but unfortunately they just weren't able to maintain it. The defense is looking spent, and as I type, the Patriots just scored again to go up by 14. Barring something very unusual, that'll probably do it.

Some wild games on today, the Chiefs look great beating up Seattle on the road. I think they are in great shape to win the division. Need to win their 3 home games and that could be enough. And what about the NFC West the division leaders are 5-6 and either Arizona or San Francisco will be one game back. This has got to be the worse the division in the NFL.

I've said for some time that 8-8 wins the NFC West this year. Who know, it may even be 7-9, which will be a real embarrassment for all four teams. I think we're going to see two NFC teams miss the playoffs with better records than the West champion.

[Rutabaga]

The Chargers always seem to have the Colts' number, so I had absolutely no hesitation in picking them to win last night. I like the Colts, but I love the Chargers, so I was a very happy camper! :eee

[Jedi Master Carr]

The Colts are in bad shape right now. Manning has had two bad games in a row. Half of their team is hurt, they are actually luck their division is a mess right now. I think they will win 10 games and win their division. As for the Chargers them and the Chiefs are going to fight it out. I still think the Chiefs will find a way to eek out the division ( I am confident they can win their three home games and then just need to win one more road game). I think they can beat the Chargers on the road if they have to with the way Cassell, Bowe, and Charles are playing.

Not a whole lot of turnover this week, but the field seems to be drawing tighter - 11th place is only six games out of the lead!
