Suicide pick: St. Louis

So it looks like I won the first round of the suicide pool. Do I get a prize?

Ryan do yo hate the Chiefs? Second rate week you picked against them at home. And again you are the only person who picks against them. Just wondered if you are trying to pick upsets or think the Chiefs aren't that good.

Even *I* didn't pick the Bills over KC!

Jedi Master Carr
Oct 31st, 2010, 12:50:44 PM
I admit it is closer than I would like, but this is how the Chiefs seem to play. Biggest shock is the Green Bay-Jets game. The Brewers are pitching a shutout over the Mets.

Oh dear, we're missing four people's picks... Just to reiterate, you can still put in your picks for the remaining six games for partial credit! The way we've done that in the past is that you have the option of adding your late games to the worst score minus one from the early games. If we all do well on the early games, you could still do decently well for the week.

And I can't speak for Ryan, but there have certainly been times that I've picked a team several weeks in a row to win (49ers) or lose (Chargers), not because I think they were good/bad enough to win/lose all those games, but because I thought something was bound to give. The Bills did give the Ravens a scare last week in Baltimore. Of course, that would make me less likely to pick them for a road upset this week, as it's very difficult for struggling teams to maintain that level of intensity two games in a row.

But no one ever said this was an exact science. :)

Jedi Master Carr
Oct 31st, 2010, 01:05:12 PM
Well I was being a bit facetious I admit, since the Chiefs are my team :p

Dragon
Oct 31st, 2010, 01:54:40 PM
Of course, now the Bills have tied it in the fourth quarter...

Meanwhile, I think this might be the first time the 49ers have held a two-score lead all season. Troy Smith seems to be playing a decent game in relief of Alex Smith, though the Broncos defense seems to be a great tonic for any struggling offense right now.

Wow.... hell of a game by the Packers. They stopped the Jets running game pretty well and made plays when they needed to. The Jets looked somewhat rusty instead of fresh coming off their bye week. Most important stat: Turnovers: Jets - 3 Packers - 0

Jedi Master Carr

Jets offense looked awful. I think the Chiefs-Buffalo game is going to end in a tie. Neither team can hit a FG. I say that and the Chiefs hit a FG on the last play of the game. Wow crazy game, not sure why the Chiefs couldn't pass the ball until the OT. They did run for almost 300 yards. Oh Sorry Nathaniel, your Bills do put up a big fight. They just can't win the close game. I am sure they will win won here soon.

Edit
What a run by Chris Johnson that reminded me of some of Barry Sanders runs. The Titans are looking great, they are dominating games very quietly right now.

I'm hoping their first win comes against Detroit here in a couple of weeks. I'll be at that game in person, so it's be extra awesome.

Forgot to pick :( Actually I remembered last night but I was pretty drunk so its probably just as well I didn't. :uhoh

I would have picked the 9ers to win though! :p

Figures that the week I forget to put my picks in is the week I can actually watch. :P

Argh, what a frustrating game. I do think the refs screwed the Steelers out of two great scoring chances in the first half, but the Steelers had plenty of chances to win the game anyway, and they squandered them with uncharacteristic mistakes. Meanwhile, Drew Brees played an excellent game, and the Saints defense was obviously stoked. I still feel the Steelers should have won this game, but this is what happens when you blow your chances against a team as talented as the Saints. :(

So, does anybody want Randy Moss? I was shocked to see him released. I know the Chiefs could use a WR but I don't want him. I suspect the Rams or Redskins to sign him.

Well, this week I thought the Bills, who've been playing good but not good enough, would get the win. I was close. But, not close enough.

Well, yesterday wrapped up another interesting week in the NFL. At least I'm keeping an average of above .500 in my picking average during this wildly unpredictable season. ;)

Dragon

Fair bit of turnover this week, including a new leader! Ryan Pode continues his suicide dominance with a St. Louis pick, of all things. For prizes - I dunno. Maybe you can persuade an admin to give you a snazzy custom title or something?

Football dominance shall be mine... Muwahahahahahaha...

Or something like that.
