Description:
Three siblings, Jack, Jaden and Emma attempt to flee the planet Coruscant after their parents are murdered by a Coruscanti gang called the Dead Signs. Gang members, lead by their leader Resh, track down the children to a space port in order to tie up loose ends.

The three stood still amidst the ebb and flow of passengers being let off and on as ships came and went. Jack the tallest of the three, held both hands of his younger siblings. His back weighed down with packs and satchels, the remains of their belongings. Emma clung idly to his hand while swinging about his legs to watch the ballet of the space port unfold around them. Her dirty blonde hair had grown too long and would get in her big green eyes until she shook it away.

Description:
The first of a four part series marking the return of Grand Inquisitor Tear. The lost Grand Inquisitor gathers loose ends from his past while setting in motion his plans for the future. Hera and Baralai are summoned by The Message to a dark tower in the depths of Coruscant. Baralai is confronted by the Reptilian Naberius and sent on a task to prove his worthiness. Hera discovers the answers behind Tears absence and is witness to the twists of his plotting future.
Teaser:
The guards weapon jumped to his shoulder with a click when the movement of a little girl skipping by startled him. The twin seemed oblivious to their presence. She was humming the same tune Hera had heard them singing before. She had a box in her arms with a small rod curved to a right angle sticking from the side that she was twisting. The metallic music jumped pace and died with each crank of the rod. The faster she cranked the more rapid the beat of the music. The girl was smiling, slowing the music teasingly then speeding it back up. As the notes played she turned to face Hera with a smile.
"Are you looking?" The girls whispered in unison to the pair standing in the door way. One of the sisters appeared riding the tauntaun. Her head twisting, as the ride went round, to keep an eye on the two who had entered the room.
"You're not looking." They whispered together again, the twin on the ride was making her second pass while the other continued to crank the toybox, the notes climbing to the eventual climax of the song.

Baralai Lotus, after years of seeking vengeance, is finally given his chance when Tear makes his presence known.

All the frustration and humiliations of her lost ability and captivity by the Inquisitoriate boiled up in her now-reawakening sensitivity. The small, furtive experiments of her force use under the watchful eye of the Imperials of recent times were nothing in comparison. Here, in this private setting in the company of a fellow acolyte, Hera was compelled no such constraint and with a complete abandon allowed to flow what was instinctive and fundamental to her.
"I said, LET ME GO!" she yelled and unexpectedly, Tear did. He was flung high, and far, with momentous force. He sailed across the dark recesses of the room and Hera heard, more than saw, him land with a considerable crash onto the rumpled bed. A loud crack attended the landing as the bed's frame snapped beneath the impact.

She lifted back the blankets and looked over his body again, her brow deepening in concern. He should be improving but, as was blatantly evident by the increasing black spidery veins cobwebbing visibly beneath his clammy skin, he was not. To the contrary, he was drifting further and further away from recovery and Hera was faced with a difficult decision.
In the glow of the hearth's dancing flames, Hera sat very still and wrestled within herself with the options left her. Her visage, alternately cast in the vacillating shadows of the fire - now an Angel of Mercy, now an Angel of Death - as Tear's supine form glistened in a soporific fever, his body a sheen of sweat, unmoving as it increasingly lost the war raging inside it itself.
She could just let him die.

"You made a promise to me" she said softly, her fingers affectionately tracing the line of his jaw. "On Diado, remember?" She saw, by the contraction of his pupils into small pinpricks of black, that he remembered well enough. "I'll have that promise made good before I leave, dear Tear" she continued fluidly and he could hear the in and out of his own labored breath loud in his ears, he could feel the pressure of her solid form pressing alarmingly against his own. She kissed him then, her lips a silky tenderness underscored by an imposing will. She drew slowly away from him and smiled cat-like, leaning up to whisper her assurance of obedience in his ear, "I will go to Korriban and do all you say, Tear - once you've made good on your word."
