Just wondering what the status of everyone's favorite Wookie planet is in our universe?

I've read the Wookiepedia entry, but given that the Empire never fell in our universe I'm assuming that the planet is still under the Empire's control and probably still using the Wookies for slave labour?

These assumptions correct?

I think this thread (http://www.sw-fans.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20181)was supposed to end with an orbital bombardment of the planet. The rebels having evacuated some of the wookies before it happens.

The current condition of the planet would probably be pretty dire. Large unchecked forest fires, most if not all of the known cities destroyed, Imperial extermination squads fishing around, etc.

So Kashyyk at the end of the clone wars except the Imperials aren't just pacifying any wookie resistance instead they're trying to wipe them all out.

Though the assumed result gives me another idea for another day...
