It hadn't been long since his father's death. But long enough for Jason not to feel it any more. He had received the news with a numb feeling after a group from the Wheel had made landfall. He wasn't sure if it was just continuing resentment towards his father that made him so detached, or whether some part of him had simply released the emotion of grief from his emotional catalogue after the death of Ka. Either way, he wasn't about to find out whether or not it was simply the fact that he hadn't let it catch up to him yet.

With the notification of death came a strange surprise. His father had left everything to him, including an incredible amount of apparently untouched winnings. Being the wayward son, Jason's immediate instinct was to go out and spend it all with a rush of blood to the head. On the wheel he didn't really need that many credits other than for food and drink and to help with the landing parties. So here he was, at a less reputable station where those with enough credits bid for capital ships. As you do.

He had decided to make sure that he was being useful to the wheel and buy out a middle sized ship to use as extra firepower. This place was black market enough for everything to be heavily modified, just how he liked it. Even if he did buy the ship he had his eye on, he'd still have enough credits to live with the Wheel and even finance some parts of it. He was staring at the perfect ship. An old Thranta-Class Republic Cruiser (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Thranta-class_warship_(Great_Galactic_War)) with that classic well polished and painted exterior typical of Old Republic ships. It had been modified by some mysterious benefactor to incorporate a proper hanger to store over twenty snubfighters for which the benefactor had carved out the small and unwieldy boarding pod housings. Given that Jason had bid on it several times already and had a small team of astromechs purchased in conjunction, he was ready to board it.
He'd also made an offer to the other jedi and Alliance members to come and help pilot it home.

The bidding ended and Jason made his way back to the hanger, a grin on his face. He got into the Nexu's Grin and piloted it gracefully over to the Thranta which stowed in line with the other Capital ships on the other side of the station. They had to land in the hanger and then complete the transaction, but despite his initial rueful grin, Jason had a nagging feeling it wasn't going to go as planned.
