Take a break, read somthing new (outside of the genres I like to write in), go for a walk, play some story based video games.

I listen to music, and do menial work like cutting grass or chores around the house. It's amazing how much creativity comes out of doing things like that.

Sledge hammer...

I try and read other people's work, listen to music, and just try and relax.

I find trying to force something is counter productive.

I find that talking aloud to someone about ideas is a fantastic way to generate the enthusiasm and inspiration to post. For me personally, I get very passionate about explaining things to people... I start gesticulating, getting all excited; it whips me up into a frenzy, and posts just tumble out of my head and into the keyboard.

Of course, I don't always have someone around to talk to... but I find that it's just the 'aloud' part that really matters. I've discovered this really weird trait in myself that if I speak to myself while I'm hiking up the hill from the supermarket, or while I'm working out, or washing up, not only does it help me get into a posting mindset, but it also makes the time while doing the boring / strenuous task seem to go faster.

But then, I'm slightly crazy, and I talk to myself all the time anyway. ^_^;
