Okay, so I'm not exactly privvy as to all the going ons around here. Is anyone doing anything with the Mandalorians, or are we free to create Mando characters?

Mara is off in the ether somewhere, but she had the mainline Mandos on lock to some degree or another. LD is Mandalore in an Onderon-based offshoot of the Mandalorians, so I have no idea.

So I should be okay if I wanted to create a freelance Bounty Hunter Mandalorian character?

Other than the fact that there are like four of them already :p no? Of course, Mara played those, and she's MIA.

Tear is planning/doing something with Mandalore the planet.

I'm just kind of stoked on Mandalorians atm, and I wanted to do a melee combat specialist rather than a blaster/ranged weapon primary that you would find in Boba Fett.

Speaking of the Mandalorians of Onderon what is going on with them at the moment? I meant to get this character involved, but that never really took off.

I can probably help out with a bit of Mandalorian insight, since I'm pretty much the other half of Bounty Hunter Team Mando.

If you want to be a freelance bounty hunter Mando, there is no problem with that at all. There are a few elements of backstory that Mara and I would prefer if you kept in mind... but if you're stoked on Mandos because of the Clone Wars, you're probably about 90% of the way there anyhow. If you want more information, poke me via PM, and I'll shoot you across a more comprehensive summary.

The Tear plan goes that, after the Independents emerge, the Imperials are desperate to hold on to as much territory as possible, and they pick Mandalore as the place to make their "stand". Tear offers military aid to the Mandalorians, and things essentially wind up in a Stalingrad style ground war that goes on and on for ages. There is a notion that someone will send out a rallying cry to try and unite the Mandalorians once again: I'll need to double-check whether Tear is creating an NPC / custom-made character for the role, or if one of my Mandalorians will be doing it.

And LD - I think I actually have more "Mandalorians" than Mara now. That's a scary thought. :uhoh
