Wow, the whole thing about the dog was really well-known in the Lucasfilm world, I thought. That's why there was the line "We named THE DOG Indiana" in The Last Crusade. :lol :lol :lol

I thought Mark Hamill had a motorcycle accident between at the beginning filming of ESB, (not a car accident) so they threw in the Wampa scene to give Luke an IC reason for his face to be scarred. Not really sure how that would have effected reshoots as one movie was already complete and released...

I could see Kurt Russell in the part. I didn't know about any of the other auditions for those characters. Didn't know about the Ewoks. And knowing that now makes me shrug. They were still lame. Easily half of that list has to be "common" knowledge to most fans.
