"Easy now."

I stepped into the open with my hands spread wide to show I had no weapon at the ready. Of course, I did have Cirrsseeto walking a few paces to the side of me, so that was a bit of comfort if shit cooked off sideways, as was occasionally the way these sort of weapons deals went.

Inwardly, I was thrilled at the change of routine. The chance to go back to the old halcyon days of meeting on some backwater planet, getting a freighter full of contraband, and riding dirty from point A to point B was enough to make me feel alive, and almost like the hustler I used to be.

"My friend and I, you see, got lost on the way to Ryloth, late for a party. You wouldn't happen to have any party favors, would you?"

I cast an easy smile as I slowly reached up to the breast pocket of my old Ionian spacefarer's jacket (and by damn it felt good to be wearing the old duds again!) and eased a semi-crushed pack of stims out. I shook it so that one eased up, pressing it to my lips, and offered Mcgraves the pack if he so chose.

Allex's hand slowly eased away from his weapon as the man spoke up. He nodded to the man's friend acknowledging his presence. When offer a smoke Allex shook his head in decline.

"Quit a long time ago, heard they put allot of weird chemicals in em. I figure I don't drink the fuel I put in my ship why would I smoke shit that has higher octane content. Haven't touch em since."

Allex gave an easy smile of his own as he reached up to a hand print scanner on the side of his ship. The cargo loading dock began to lower to the ground making scrapping sounds along with its usual hiss. The hydraulics clearly needed to be replaced or in the least need new fluid. Allex patted the side of the dead run.

"She has seen better days, maybe she will again. So about those party favor's you looking for something that's ugly but packs a punch? Or the little frilly kind that make pretty lights and the ladies like?"

Cirr gave a grin at this character, who'd obviously been around this sort of environment before.

"As a guy wjith a prroperr swjingjing cod, jit's safe to sajy we'rre herre forr the harrd stuff."

The felinoid was definitely the technical expert here, and he stepped up to examine the merch.

Cirr hefted one of the beefy weapons, giving it a once-over before tossing it one-handed to me. I braced under it, it was a bit heavier for a guy like me. Bringing the repeater up to bear, I felt the distribution on it, and was surprised at how easy it was to maneuver in a compact assault variety.

Working from habit, I pushed one of the pins holding the two main housings of the rifle together, and unhinged it, glancing through the internals.

"Bit off the beaten path, I can get behind a thing like that."

We had a figure we were working off of, and had a good idea of how much we could afford to spend. I snapped the weapon back into its ready state, and passed it back to the dealer. First, I wanted to look. After that, I'd make an educated stab at how much I wanted to buy, and what the price would be.

"I'd like to see what else you've got, too."

I shared a glance with Cirr, who appeared to be interested so far.

Cirr handled the DH-17 like somebody who'd certainly used more than a few. He dropped the power supply, gave the aperture an inspection, turning the weapon over in his big, experienced hands, and gave Sanis a nod. This was, more or less, a routine staple. They were always going to need DH-17's, and that was already decided. Returning the weapon to the condition he found it, Cirr extended the pistol, grip first, back to Alex with a curt nod.

At the mention of something special, the felinoid's ears bobbed. Always a bit of a tech-obsessed junkie, he was interested.

"jI don't have to say jI'm all earrs. Whatcha got?"

Allex smiled as he got from the chest he was sitting on and punched in the code. It hissed opened as he looked down at the contents in a bit of awe. It was a beautiful piece of Blas Tech weaponry. It was one big freaking gun meant to decimate infantry unit by the dozen's in one shot.

He reached in first and pulled out the shiny brand spanken new tripod. He handed the Tripod to Cirrsseeto with a big old smile. Allex then nodded to Sanis as he spoke to Cirrsseeto.

"Have him set up the tripod you’re going to need it for this baby."

Allex then reached in with both hands and pulled out the E-Web Anti-infantry gun. The bugger was heavy as Allex Carefully carried the piece down the ramp to where Sanis should be setting up the pod. Allex looked down at the weapon he was holding eying its beautiful craftsmanship. It looked like it was fresh off the line and never been fired.

"You have probably both seen an E-Web or at least one pointed at you and it made you run like a little bitch. But you have not seen this particular Model."

"New model E-Web?"

I got to work quickly pulling the heavy repeater's tripod open into the ready position, muscle memory knowing from repetition how to prep the gun quickly. The good thing about Imperial weapons is that they're everywhere. You'll eventually learn the ropes with a few of them.

I watched Alex, with Cirr in tow, bring the repeater down to set on the tripod. Normally, the big guy was known to tote a chopped-up E-web without a tripod as his gun of choice, but considering we hadn't bought the damn thing yet, it was in everybody's best interests to do as the dealer said and to follow the operating manual.

"What did they tweak on this one?"

Of course, it went without saying that something of macchismo lived in the land of heavy firepower. Though I wasn't likely to use the thing, I couldn't wait to see it in action.
