For Kalidor based characters, and maybe any Shadows that are still kicking around somewhere.

The RP is in the Kuat shipyards, where Kalidor has put in for some minor repairs. Hijinks or whatever can now ensue. However, if Termagant is also docked for supplies or repairs, then whatever Shadows there are can come out to play as well.

We could have a brawl between two groups, with Bette caught in the middle :p Or whatever. Very open to wherever the thing goes, even if someone decides that there's an attack and we all have to suit up and repel the Rebels who are skirmishing at the shipyards.

Love it :D

Tavik! Wanna use this as my intro, too?

...I am highly amused by the fact I JUST sent you an IM suggesting that. XD

I figure we can tie in odd loose ends and clean up the wiki at this point too... *nod*

Again?

What is he doing with that saucy maids outfit that it needs professional cleaning so often? And why does it look suspiciously like it would fit you?

Vikki Tavik

...because Wystalin is a pervert and apparently had the garment made based upon the various averages of female members of the crew? :|

...ok, in all seriousness I'll probably post to the thread tomorrow since my brain is pretty much goo right now (I blame work)

Mind if I crash the party with my ships?

Vikki Tavik
Jul 13th, 2010, 05:14:52 PM
Well... I think this is more of an off-duty thread to start with so not sure what fun your ships would have. :p

But if you just wanted to be hanging around the repair yards and attempt to socialize with a bunch of pilots, I don't see why not. Bette... you started the thread though, you ok with Tarrick jumping in? :)

Bette Davis
Jul 13th, 2010, 05:20:04 PM
Its pretty much open to Imps in general, characters in particular, not fleet RPing.

So, a character building RP, not a combat RP.

So, yes, is what I'm trying to say. The Kuat driveyards are a big and busy place. Try not to do anything too separate from the rest of the action though, that makes a roleplay hard to read. :)

Cool. In my current thread, one of my ships will be damaged and putting in for repairs. Since I don't really care to stand on a bridge and watch a ship being repaired... to the bar that is most likely filled with drunk pilots with me. No turbolasers to fire, but that won't stop me from shooting off my mouth.

EDIT : This thought came to my mind and I just want to put it out there. If any Imperial Squadron wants to base itself from one of my ships, I'm more than happy to accomodate. It would give my character some interpersonal activity since not all my missions will be combat.

I lied about posting tomorrow. :mischief

I figure whatever goes down in the bar will be a great "Welcome to the Kalidor" for dear Vitra.

Also keeps us all in more or less one place. Again... should keep things simple/moving at first. We can go crazy when we all get in the thread later, I figure. :)

Sounds good!

As far as being based on one of your ships we could possibly move the Shadows to your ship. Mayhaps!

...wait... so am I your wingman or are you mine? :uhoh And if I'm yours then doesn't it become wingwoman?

I know it's still "wingman," just like if you were starting college you'd be a freshman...

But I'm actually a little fuzzy on the first part. I'd think it would be like partners, so you're each other's wingman... everybody has a wingman watching their back, even if one of them might be the senior officer. There's also such a thing as a wing commander, but that would have to be whoever's in charge of a whole wing (three squadrons), right?

The Wing Commander series messed me up by teaching me a wing was two fighters... >_<

Lilaena De'Ville
Jul 15th, 2010, 11:55:03 AM
Wait, a wing is three squadrons?

*facepalm*

Tannis V'larr
Jul 15th, 2010, 11:59:54 AM
Actually, according to Wookieepedia (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Fighter_wing), the Empire uses "wing" to refer to the full fighter complement of an ISD, which is six squadrons, or seventy-two fighters. Ground support wings, however, consist of ten flights of four fighters each. For the Rebel Alliance, a wing is three squadrons (thirty-six fighters).

Confused yet? Great.

Karl Valten
Jul 15th, 2010, 03:27:13 PM
Different Air Force, different number of birds, same designation. Really the reason for this is that ISD carry 6 squadrons and Rebel Cruisers generally carry 3.

Makes sense from a logistical stand point.

Imperial:

Wing: 6 Squadrons (72 birds)
Squadron: 4 Flights (12 Birds)
Flight: 3 Birds

Technically each pilot would have 2 wingmen. Of course that's all bean counting and we really don't care.

Tannis V'larr
Jul 15th, 2010, 03:29:01 PM
I thought it was three flights of four in a squadron? Regardless, that's how we've always done it here, and it's how we're planning to continue doing it.

Dasquian Belargic
Jul 15th, 2010, 03:30:56 PM
Rogues operate on 4 fighters per flight, Hellfire on 3 per flight.

Oh the confusion!

(Does it really matter all that much?)

Answer: No it really doesn't

On another note I will try to get to this thread later tonight and post my grand entrance. Itching to play this character again.

Travis North
Jul 16th, 2010, 08:29:02 AM
Fighter squadrons are modular for different purposes. It's generally 3-4 per flight, sometimes pairs, and occasionally any other numerical division within 12. It really depends on the task at hand and which flight/attack pattern the squadron is using as a tactic to break the enemy.

Cool I just posted arriving and dismissed my crew. Now time to really put them in the pisser by calling them back. Ah the life of an Imperial Captain.

EDIT: Since the pilots are all crowded into a cheap crappy sweaty bar, I think the Officers should be in the Officer's Club which is like a Bazillion times better eating rare food and getting our toes licked by Female Twi'leks and our back scratched by the horns of Female Zabraks.

Karl Valten
Jul 18th, 2010, 03:17:43 PM
Hey, this would be right before the Admonisher and taskforce take off for Bespin right?

Crew transfers, new orders and assignments, and the like would make sense for part of the storyline.

Reason I'm mentioning is that Jakys Sei'Trem is going to be the new Inquisitoriate representative on Bespin. I think it would be amusing for him to hitch a ride with the task force...and see the reactions at "oh, shit, the alien is an Inquisitor" or whatever response happens.

Are people okay with Jakys tagging along?

Sort of a mentor program I guess you could say each pilot on shadow taking there turn or hell make it a group effort.

You're callsign should be Broadside since the Reavers never saw it coming.

Tannis V'larr
Jul 22nd, 2010, 01:52:23 PM
Broadside's not exactly complimentary...

She could be Bombshell. ;)

I do like the idea of cooperation between Shadows and Hellfires. Tannis has a strong flight training history (http://www.sw-fans.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20950) and doesn't want to completely dissolve the sparkling rapport that Bette has already formed with the trainees. ;)

Also, this barfight will most certainly have consequences. In a lot of ways, Tannis will be a more lenient squadron commander than Commander Grisham was, and he'll give his two flight leaders, Bette and Aliya, a great deal of latitude, but he will not turn a blind eye to insubordinate and downright dangerous behavior. Picking a fight with a rival squadron is bad enough; actively inviting several more squadrons to come beat on your squadmates is several degrees worse.

The Shadows will be lined up for their dressing-down after the barfight. ;)

I do intend to deliver some judgment on our two troublemakers, Zethra Kaine and Malick Raine. That was pretty much going to end the thread, so I didn't want to do it prematurely.

Plus, kind of awkward for everyone to just write their character showing up in the hangar when all that's really happening is a speech from Tannis. I'll put some kind of cap on it whenever y'all are done. :)
