So, in the interest of keeping up with the rest of the factions.. does anyone have any suggestions for the Alliance at the moment? Overall, I'd say that we have a lot going on, regardless of the type of character you're playing, but I'm sure that there's room for streamlining and such line.
The faction roster probably needs updating, for one, so I'll take a look at that later.

I suggested something over in the Imperial thread, about how good an idea it is that we seem to be so concentrated within the Rebellion. Most of our SpecForce characters - well, Colonel Starborn's unit; Lieutenant Tur'enne's former unit; and Dorn Force, at any rate - are all part of the Fighting Fifth, for example. Certainly a few of our Fleeting characters command units within the Third Fleet, which is led by Reshmar, giving us a common theme, a common leader, etc.
I suggested a way that the Imperials could take that a step further, by setting up focus points where Imperial activity occurs. To keep up with the neighbours, it might be worth us doing something similar: take what we already have by virtue of fluke and accident, and turn it into "official policy", and ensure that we have the necessary characters / Generals / representatives / etc as being actively played.
We might, for example, want to take the step of officially declaring a planet as our Headquarters. When we've needed something like that in the past, we seem to have headed for Mon Calamari, which certainly works: but it might be worth having a think over what specifically is there.
We might want to spread some stuff around, perhaps. The Bothan Spy Network is a fairly integral part of the Alliance, given how they're the ones who got the plans for the Second Death Star. I've also pitched that the Bothan representative on the Council be the head of SpecForce. Perhaps it would be worth having Alliance Intelligence, Alliance SpecOps, and Alliance SpecForce all headquartered on Bothawui?
Since we potentially have Onderon, Hapes and allies joining - and because the KA is fairly active - it would seem shrewd to up our game elsewhere in the alliance to match. :)

I like the idea of putting down a permanent base on Mon Cal. It would help if we could begin to actually call somewhere on solid ground our home, especially when it comes to something as simple as providing people with a place they know they can come together - that isn't the Wheel.

Well... very little action in this thread, compared to the Imperial version.
Shall I take that to mean that everyone is happy with the Rebellion at the moment? :D

I would guess so. :lol
I think that, thanks to the Wheel, we've actually got most of the activity concentrated in the same place and what not.
Further to my "Bothan Spy Net" related suggestion earlier, there has been a suggestion that Dorn Force sets itself up on a planet where our Felacatian can frollick in the woods, and hunt and what-not. Obviously, a heavily aquatic world without much in the way of a "surface" would make that an extremely difficult request to comply with. Bothawui does provide that however, and there's also the added precedent that the Bothan representative might be the head of SpecForce, etc.
What if we moved the Fighting Fifth to Bothawui? That'd put Colonel Starborn under the same roof - well, the same atmosphere, at any rate - as the Dornies. With the precedent for Intelligence shennanigans on the planet, there's an increased opportunity for someone like Dashiel Starborn showing up (and any other Rebel Intel types) and interacting with the Dorns (I know he knows some of us already), etc.
Having a headquarters for the politicians on Mon Calamari makes sense, and for the Fleet, like you suggest, Jen: but there's not enough terra firma to station a military unit, I don't think. :\
Dornies - what do you think about a change of location? I know we only just wound up on the Roche Asteroid type place... but would the opportunity to hang out with the Intel and SpecOps people - not to mention the chance to visit a real bar - make up for it?

We can always change the Alliance Hub to be Bothawui and Mon Calamari, providing a place for both military and government characters to interact.

This is true. And on the plus side, Bothawui is sorta central, in terms of the territory we have.
On the downside though... whenever it rains, the whole planet smells like wet dog. :mischief

Central hub for the Rebellion would probably mean more interaction throughout the various groups...which is always good.
Also I kinda see it as a nice step forward for the Alliance. Makes it seem like we're confident enough to actually HAVE a headquarters. Less "OHMYGOD The Empire is GONNA GET US!" and more like we're actually rather determined to be an organized force that isn't constantly running away.

The Personnel Database forum has been removed. All threads from that forum have been merged into Rendezvous Point. If possible, we'd like to encourage people to make their bios on the wiki, but you are of course free to submit your bio for approval and discussion in this forum. We are now left with:
OOC Private Forum
IC Public Forum
OOC Public forum
Does anyone have any suggestions for other forums that we might need? I can't think of anything except maybe like, the Bothan Spy Network, which could be like our IC news feed. But I don't know how much activity something like that would get.
