View Full Version : Imperial Fleet

Ceto Rübezahl

Since we're talking about sprucing up the Galactic Civil War, and since Droo mentioned having an Imperial fleeter he wanted to use and all that jazz, I figured it might be worth working out who is around, who has ships, who has what ships, what ships, etc... just so we know where we stand, going into this Big Story thing. :)

The "Who" Part

In terms of me personally, I have two characters with ships:

Ceto Rübezahl a former Moff - the one the Rebels defeated in the Battle of Bothawui, though Ceto blames the sector Admiral for running off into an ambush and leaving him nothing to defend the planet with. His current role is overseeing a project to try and make sure that the space lanes between the Core and the Corporate Sector remain accessible to Imperial ships. To do that, he has four ships to his name: an Imperial I, a Victory I, a Victory II, and an Immobilizer 418.

Delgado Xaanan is the current Executive Officer of the Corporate Sector, and its effective Moff under the terms of the current arrangement. Said arrangement agreed to provide the Corporate Sector with a (modest) Sector Fleet for its protection, to free up CSA ships to help Ceto Rübezahl's counter-piracy efforts. I haven't bean-counted the Sector Fleet as yet, but I've been assuming that it is made up mostly of older, outdated Star Destroyers - a few Gladiators, a few Victorys, and perhaps a couple of Venators, Tectors, and Imperials for variety.

For the most part those forces are moot, since they're planned to be mostly wiped out over the course of the Big Story.

The "What" Part

In looking around for all the different kinds of Star Destroyer (in order to come up with some variety), there seems to be quite a selection available. As a kind of combination suggestion / "is this list right?" type thing, here are the classes (in approximate order of age) we could concievably choose from when it says "Star Destroyer":

Clone Wars

Acclamator I (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Acclamator_I-class_assault_ship) - Designed as troop transports, and for orbital bombardment. EU reckons they're in occasional use in "outlying sectors"; possibly in in use with the Army as well, since they can carry more walkers than an Impstar. Length: 752m.

Acclamator II (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Acclamator_II-class_assault_ship) - Modified for ship-to-ship combat, apparently. EU suggests "outlying sectors". Length: 752m.

Venator (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Venator-class_Star_Destroyer) - Their fighter compliment is insane, so if used they would probably be operating at a reduced capacity. Again, "outlying sectors". Length: 1137m.

Victor / Victory I (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Victory_I-class_Star_Destroyer) - The -y ending seems incongruous; my guess would be that Victor (as per "Victor Initiative Program") is the original name, and it was renamed, as per the Imperator. These are the ones with concussion missiles, and are pretty old and outdated by modern standards. Length: 900m.

Victor / Victory II (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Victory_II-class_Star_Destroyer) - A modified version, which swaps the concussion missiles for extra turbolasers and added ion cannons, for more ship-to-ship action. Length: 900m.

Imperator / Imperial I (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Imperial_I-class_Star_Destroyer) - A scaled-up Victory II, effectively. Arguably the "most common" Star Destroyer. It was renamed as the Imperial-class after the end of the Clone Wars. Length: 1600m.

Tector (http://Tector) - An Imperator which trades its fighter and troop capacity for extra weapons, and extra armour. There is no gaping landing bay for juicy secondary explosions; unfortunately, the lack of fighter support makes them lame for solo deployment. Length: 1600m.

Rise of the Empire

Gladiator (http://Gladiator) - They were originally designed as escorts for the Victor-class, but they didn't get around to building them until after the Clone Wars. When they did, they turned them into patrol ships for "outlying sectors". Length: 500m.

Vindicator (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Vindicator-class_heavy_cruiser) - Not a "Star Destroyer" per se, but it's in the right length category, and it's triangular. The cruiser upon which the Immobilizer 418 is based: and apparently quite versatile; a potential replacement for aging Gladiators and Victorys. Length: 600m.

Immobilizer 418 (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Immobilizer_418_cruiser) - The original Interdictor Cruiser, built on the Vindictor hull. Length: 600m.

Rebellion Era

Imperial II (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Imperial_II-class_Star_Destroyer) - Introduced just prior to the Battle of Yavin; an upgrade of the Imperial I with more guns, better guns, and the latest technology. Length: 1600m.

Interdictor (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Interdictor_Star_Destroyer) - An Imperial I with gravity well generators, because Kuat Drive Yards really likes stealing ideas from other companies. Length: 1600m.

Executor (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Executor-class_Star_Dreadnought) - Yeah, I know we can't choose it for our sector fleets, but I didn't want to make it feel left out. Length: 19000m.

Victory III - Something we cooked up; a modern technology upgrade for the aging Victorys. Length: 900m.

Admiral Teleran Balades who commands the 92nd Support Fleet. For the most part he's been chasing after pirates and raiders along the Correllian Trade Spine. In addition his squadrons and lines often field-test out new weapons and technologies.

Inquisitor Sirus Zeera commands the 1st Black Fleet. This is the only full war fleet that the Inquisition controls. It's existence is a complete secret to most of the Inquisitoriate and even the Empress does not know about it. It has only seen field-tests and training exercises. As of the current timeline it has not yet participated in actually combat.

As for ships in service, do you have access to the restricted Imperial forums? If not, please request access in your CP. All current vessels in service as well as experimental technologies are in those forums.

I do, but while I found all of the experimental classes in the Lab bit, I couldn't find a list of what ships are in active service anywhere. I may just have skipped over it in amongst everything else... could someone perhaps make it sticky, so it's easier to find?

Edit:

That's because the list is in the Commodities Network. Didn't think to look there. -_-
