Criteria for creating a new faction, complete with faction forums:

Five unique members
$30 board creation fee
Subsequent contributions to annual hosting fees (each front page listing is $50 per year)

If you would like to create a new faction, discussion the creation of a new faction or recruit members for a potential faction, please do so here. Please keep any discussion to do with existing factions out of this thread.

That is intriguing as I was just thinking about that subject. I have a site that I run which is probably going to go by the wayside (small number of members). I was thinking about seeing if they would all come over here and if we could stay together as a group that it would be more fun, since we are used to rping together.

Are there any regulations about what would NOT be allowed before I talk to them?

I do have a faction that I created for an old MSN Star Wars Site that I could bring back, but it's technology was at the top end of the advanced level.

The main thing to keep in mind would be the timeline we are playing in, as obviously that can have an impact on what kinds of technology are currently available and what has canonically happened (e.g. the Vong do not exist.)

We would certainly be happy to have more members with us though! :)

Cool I'll check into it and see if they are willing to join. I think there are 8 who are still active unique members. If I can dig up the old faction I'll post it here. It was actually a race of beings from another galaxy (sound familiar), but they when they reached young adulthood, the beings would be fitted with cybernetics that would help them in the line of work they would do.

Their main weapon was EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) weaponry. It's main advantage was that it ignored shields. I'll see what I can dig up. They were called the Shin'Daal.

We have had members create their own races here before. So long as they are balanced in terms of strengths/flaws, and make sense within the context of the galaxy, I don't see why we couldn't look at adding them to our galaxy :)

Okay, here is what I've come up with and I'm still trying to recruit other members.

Galactic Shipwrights

Based on Leritor in the Mid Rim, this independent planet is home to the native species of Sauvax and Humans. (Complete history found here (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Leritor).)

IC - Galactic Shipwrights is a small independent shipwright company that caters to discriminating clients all over the galaxy. Here at GSW, we specialize in construction, repair and upgrading of starships and fighters of any type. So come on over and we will fix you up.

OOC - The company CEO is also the Planetary Governor. GSW is the largest company on the planet and they hold the majority of the planet. The mineral rich planet provides the resources necessary to construct starships. GSW is large enough to accomodate most medium sized capital ships and is far enough away from the Empire to not feel their talons in what they do.

That doesn't mean that they advertise their dealings. Specials can be had through an intermediary. GSW deals with all people and beings, but they are careful with hiding their records. They also maintain a fleet of their own ships to defend their resources.

I'm working on the bios and histories for the company and the CEO. I would use this company to help those that need upgrades to get them... at a price. Since we don't find ourselves on either side of the Civil War, we can cater to both. While we would build ships for clients, our main job would be upgrades and repairs.

*bump this thread*

If that bump was for my benefit I'll mention again that the Independents aren't an 'official' group. There is no intention currently to be one either.

I was bumping for Tarrick since no one weighed in on his idea, and just for anyone else who would find the info useful.

Oh well then, two birds with one stone.;)

As for Tarricks idea I think it's a good one but for an Official group probably overkill. Unless you wanted to expand the idea and make it bigger like a Corporate Sector theme.

Yeah, looking over what really would be constitute an "Official Group", the shipyard company would be more of an unofficial group, like Quinn Protection Agency or a smuggling or pirate group.

Would it be okay to do this as an "Unofficial Group"?

Don't see why not. To my knowledge there's no requirements on being an unofficial group.

And Tear, if you do decide to go official with the Confederacy, please let me know because I'd possibly be open to splitting costs.

Just an unrelated question.

Can the Jensaarai come back?

I wouldn't think so. That's a bit to close to grey Jedi or whatever they're called.

The Jensaarai were wiped out by Tear during his crusading. The ruins of whatever remains of their civilization are still occupied by a Inquisitor/Independent force left on Susevfi.

Wow. Tear has been up to a lot of stuff that I wasn't even aware of.

If you are going to wipe out anymore species/factions, please let me know ;)

Also since I have a Star Destroyer overhead and assault shuttles down on the way to the surface.

In that case, there are the planets Cartoa (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Cartao)and Khomm (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Khomm) which were also hit by Tears crusade. Leaving both worlds in ruin with a smattering of survivors. Cartoa was written about here (http://www.sw-fans.net/forum/showthread.php?t=18903). But so far Khomm's only been mentioned in passing.

That is to say if someone wants to play a Jensaarai, Cartoan, Khommite, it's still totally possible. I don't want to leave the impression that it isn't. I've just bullseyed the main group of them is all.;)

Okay Cool. My character is almost obsessed with being trained as a force user. That is why he is searching for any of their remains. The fact that an enemy presence is within his sector... but could train him is very.... intriguing.

Well then, I will set the scene for you:

There will be a small military outpost just outside the Jensaarai ruins occupied by Inquisitors and stormtroopers. The flag is an Imperial flag being flown. The base will be under Inquisitor authority. So it'll look like an Inquisitor outpost. They aren't flying Independent colors.

The outposts main goal is to just watch over the ruins, which have been thoroughly pillaged by Tear (Not that your character couldn't stumble upon something interesting), and report back anything of note.
