When I first heard about a new Green Hornet movie starring Seth Rogen, I thought the casting was really odd. I mean, I like Seth Rogen, but he doesn't exactly fit into the superhero mold.

The first official trailer for the movie has been released, and you know what? This just might work.

PS...I guess every movie is going to be in 3D from now on. I know I'm probably an oddball about this, but I'm not a fan of 3D at all, and I don't like the apparent fact that everything is going to be in 3D from now on. :\

It looks fun but I can't help but think this looks like a poor man's Ironman. He's no Tony Stark yet it's like he wants to be.

Anyway, I'm with you 110% on 3D. Complete gimmick. I watched Avatar in 3D and only that, I figured why not give it a whirl just once with the best 3D film out there. It was nice but an absolute bums-in-seats gimmick for cinemas and the movie industry. Consequently, I cringe everytime I see the words: IN 3D! And I think history will prove us right on this one, too.

I don't know much about The Green Hornet. Is it DC or Marvel?

I think DC. But I'm awfully tired and brain is shutting down for the night.

3D like Avatar or Up is where it's going as they were made in 3D from the beginning - other movies proclaiming 3D were retro changed and that's what doesnt work. If 3D is the native format it works extremely well and also when not used as a gimmick.

The whole using 3D to enhance is truly new so a lot of directors will simply use it as a gimmick - but others are working out how to use it properly with the proper cameras, lighting and direction that's required. It's going to be a whole new skillset to work out and while we are in that cross over as good filmakers find out ways to enhance film art using the new technology while others go for the cash, so like the changeover to colour or sound, they'll be a lot of shit but also on the otherhand some truly revolutionary movies.

I got to see live 3D sports broadcasting recently and it was to put it mildy a acid trip mindfuck. Top quality and you can really see where this is all going with a few years more development to get the depth of field right.

So yes, genuine 3D is here to stay and it's looking like a true revolution in cinema and TV - especially sports. Bloody hell, I still cant believe what I saw. We'll just have to put up with gimmick for a wee bit longer

Saw this movie last night in 2D. I honestly don't see it being great in 3D, and I'm not a Green Hornet fan so I can't judge how faithful the adaption was, but IMO it was a good movie, lots of action and comedy, I don't think it quite approaches the 'Worth being seen in a movie theatre' epicness, but I would definitly buy this movie and watch it over and over again on DVD.

I have been debating getting this on iTunes, now that it's out, but I just checked out the critics reviews on Metacritic and it was really poorly reviewed.

Did anyone else here see it and enjoy it?
