The appropriate way to view Unforgiven as a film is as a bookend to The Man with No Name trilogy. Clint Eastwood's characters have never really had to deal with the terrible things they did. This is a revelation of guilt, horror, and mortality.

Unforgiven is such an awesome movie. Clint Eastwood is so badass in it. A Few Good Men deserves an honorable mention though, if only for Nicholson's "You can't handle the truth!".

I have actually only seen two of those. Voted for The Last of the Mohicans because of Daniel Day Lewis..i.e the greatest actor ..ever. But I liked Home alone 2 better.

Not done singing Unforgiven's praises:

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Y5LkbZFfKx4&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Y5LkbZFfKx4&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

Everything done in Unforgiven is subtle. The moment the horse falls on the bad guy's leg, he's done. Ned knows it, Bill Munny knows it. The Kid has no concept of mortality, and keeps pestering with ignorant questions. It's one thing to have to shoot somebody when your life is on the line, but here the issue is settled, and they're straight up gonna murder him.

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5BppCSJZl_o&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5BppCSJZl_o&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

And now, the Kid understands. It's horrifying.

I voted Dogs, but Aladdin was obviously my fav at the time - and would have been my second choice now :3

I was not allowed to watch Aladdin at the time. Well, I didn't see any of these movies when I was 12.

But Unforgiven is clearly the best. :)

I voted for Aladdin. One of my favourite Disney movies and certainly my fave from the list here. I think it was the first movie I saw that was part of the Disney Renaissance. Absolute magic!

Really? How come?

I remember watching From Dusk Til Dawn at a friends birthday sleepover, the year it came out (1996) and I was 9 at the time. My mam went apeshit :lol

...and I thought that I was young at that time...

I watched IT by Stephen King when I was nine... I avoided public showers at the gym after that.
