SCHEDULE

looking for one...

NEW SHOW PREVIEWS
Not a lot going on here, the CW doesn't have a lot of house available for programming. Two shows I know about:

Hellcats
A coming-of-age drama about a young pre-law student (Aly Michalka, Bandslam) whose world is turned upside-down when she loses her scholarship and has to join the college’s competitive cheerleading squad. This fun, energetic series is a behind-the-scenes look at the drama, politics and pressure surrounding the high school football program at a Southern university. Described as "Election meets Bring It On". Stars: Allison Michalka (Phil of the Future, music group 78violet), Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical), Gail O'Grady, Robbie Jones, Matt Barr, Heather Hemmens, Elena Esovolova, Sharon Leal (Boston Public), Ben Browder (Farscape, Stargate SG-1)

Nikita
A remake based on La Femme Nikita. Focusing on an assassin for a top-secret government organization who goes rogue and the new assassin who is trained to replace her. Seems a bit more action focused than the usual CW fair. Stars: Maggie Q (Mission Impossible III, Live Free or Die Hard) is Nikita, Lyndsey Fonseca (Kick-Ass) is the replacement assassin, Aaron Stanford (Traveler), Melinda Clark (The OC), Sebastien Roberts, Shane West (ER, A Walk to Remember), Tiffany Hines, Xander Berkeley (Kick-Ass)

NEW SHOW PREVIEWS

Raising Hope
1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyjaiWRTKPU), 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwhe7a3SXwE), 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOSjj3a5VZ8) , 4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hCW4FYEHXw)
A 25-year-old raises an infant with the help of his quirky family.

Starring: Lucas Neff, Cloris Leachman, Garrett Dillahunt (character actor, has been in literally everything, notably TSCC), Martha Plimpton (Goonies)
Creator/Showrunner: Greg Garcia (My Name is Earl)

Terra Nova
We follow an ordinary family embarking on an incredible journey back in time to prehistoric Earth as a small part of a massive experiment to save the human race.

In the year 2149 the world is dying. The planet is overdeveloped, overcrowded and over polluted. With the majority of plant and animal life extinct, devotion to science has brought mankind to the brink of destruction, but has also provided its only hope for salvation. Knowing there is no way to reverse the damage to the planet, a coalition of scientists has managed to open up a fracture in the space-time continuum, creating a portal to prehistoric Earth. This doorway leads to an amazing world, one that allows for a last-ditch effort to save the human race…possibly changing the future by correcting the mistakes of the past. The series centers on the Shannon family as they join the tenth pilgrimage of settlers to TERRA NOVA, the first colony of humans in this second chance for civilization.

Starring: Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights)
Showrunner: Brannon Braga (Star Trek: Enterprise, Threshold, 24)

Ride-Along
1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZKr5r43Ruc), 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1AtF7cSZNE), 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnI5p_Ry6Dc), 4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kz9uOdvnqIQ)
A cop drama set and filmed entirely in Chicago; a rogue cowboy cop teams up with the city's first female police chief in order to clean up the streets. The city of Chicago is a paradox that serves as the setting for RIDE-ALONG, a new drama from Shawn Ryan (“The Shield,” “The Unit”). During a ride-along, a civilian spends a shift in the passenger seat of a squad car, observing the work day of a police officer. But in this series, the audience is the passenger, taking an unpredictable ride through the streets of Chicago and navigating crime and corruption with the most respected – and notorious – cops in the city.

Starring: Jason Clarke (Brotherhood), Jennifer Beals (Lie to Me, The Book of Eli, The L Word), Delroy Lindo (Kidnapped, Gone in 60 Seconds, Mercy)
Creator/Showrunner: Shawn Ryan (The Shield)

Running Wilde
1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5N0e4WI_1Cw), 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlcWUssOKZs), 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcGzSjdHiqE)
A rich Beverly Hills jackass falls for a tree-hugging hippie. OR:

Steve Wilde has never performed a selfless act. But why should he – he’s rich! The son of an oil tycoon, Steve hasn’t had to work a day in his life and has always gotten everything he’s wanted – with one exception: the love of Emmy. The daughter of a former Wilde housekeeper, Emmy is an earnest do-gooder who has spent her adult life trying to save the world. And though Emmy is content living with an indigenous tribe in the Amazon rainforest, her 12-year-old daughter, PUDDLE (Stefania Owen, “The Lovely Bones”), just wants to be a normal kid experiencing her adolescence in a normal place. And she would speak up except for the fact that she hasn’t spoken in years. When Wilde Oil’s expansion in the rainforest threatens her adopted tribe, Emmy decides to attend Steve’s self-thrown “Humanitarian of the Year” award ceremony in hopes of convincing him to help her cause…and also maybe because she still has a thing for Steve. But same-old Steve is unwilling to help because fighting Wilde Oil (a/k/a Dad) means putting his meal ticket in jeopardy. Rather than run the risk of letting Emmy slip away again, Steve pulls out all the stops to win her heart.

Ridiculous. Who names a kid Puddle? Apparently the show is told all from her perspective, as well.

Starring: Will Arnett, Keri Russell
Creators: Mitchell Hurwitz & Will Arnett (Arrested Development)

Lonestar
1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UmpZkzGGEc), 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6_hl1nZwGQ), 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_-aZYh8NmI), 4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTEIygAmSg0), 5 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2V7fs5owNk)
A Texas con artist in the oil industry juggles two different lives in two different cities, married to two different women.

Starring: Jimmy Wolk, Adrienne Palicki (Friday Night Lights), Eloise Mumford (Crash), Jon Voight

Bob's Burgers
1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zccYG8TIAY), 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DOpjmr0JOw), 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DySN2NMbeRU)
A new animated series about a man, his family and a burger joint. A third-generation restaurateur, BOB BELCHER (H. Jon Benjamin, FAMILY GUY, “Archer”) runs Bob’s Burgers with the help of his wife and their three kids.

Mixed Signals
1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zz_x2sMmhGs), 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKTPYl_vvI8), 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ut7YUc76IM)
A comedy series about three longtime friends and their attempts to reconcile the irreconcilable: to balance their relationships with their need for freedom. The series reveals how friendships and romances enhance – and further complicate – the lives of men and the women who love them.

Starring: Nelson Franklin, David Denman, Kris Marshall
Showrunners: Bob Fisher (Wedding Crashers) & David Hemingson (Kitchen Confidential, The Deep End)

I don't understand why they are making a remake out of this, when the original show was such a classic.

I'm not so sure, actually. If it winds up as just a generic sitcom that happens to have that kind of character in (that's likely), then I don't think it'll be any less successful or more dumb than any other sitcom that has ever been made.

The inclusion of other characters implies it'll be more like that; in the Tweets, it's mostly just the son and the dad.

But why do they make remakes of anything? Anyway, its The CW, I don't expect much from that network. I know some people can't get enough Smallville or Supernatural but I've never really watched them.

I saw several of these pilots. Lonestar was the best new drama I got to watch and Raising Hope was probably the best comedy.

Some shows I enjoyed didn't get picked up....or maybe they'll land on cable somewhere (or as a mid season replacement).

No Ordinary Family and Undercovers sound kind of cool. Nothing else jumped out at me. Then again, most of these shows probably have a year or so before they air in the UK so I'll have plenty of time to find out which ones are crap :lol

I probably shouldn't say. I saw these thru work afterall - and we aren't really supposed to discuss stuff outside of it.
