Pretty bitter irony they were going to commemorate a Soviet massacre on Polish army soldiers. Pilot error suspected, the conditions were terrible and foggy.

It's a real tragedy for the people and Poland. A plane crash with none survivers always is.

All plane crashes are tragic, but I can't remember seeing something like this on a governmental level. It's just overwhelming. And since I'm half-Polish, I feel an extra bit of wistfulness over it. :(

It's a bit bizarre that they'd actually have so much of the government on one plane. I would've thought there would be protocols against this kind of thing because of the nature of plane crashes.

This is essentially regime change on a freak accident basis. What sort of power vacuum are they looking at over there now? I'm assuming emergency elections and the like will be planned right?

It's just mind boggling. I'm with Charley here, in that I'm gobsmacked they had so many important officials on one plane.

I can't even imagine how this will impact on Poland. When I picture this scenario, but in the UK instead, all I can imagine is chaos.
