This is a follow-up thread from this topic (http://www.sw-fans.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20647)
This took some work, but it was a lot of fun. These are NOT my personal favorites, rather an attempt to make an objective projection of what is liked, popular and critical acclaimed. It's a combination of BP nominees, the best rated movies at IMDB and box office. I try to include top 10 movies from box office considered good / great, especially the #1 slot (all the #1s in BO are included). All the top 250 movies at IMDB are included except for Casino (1995) because the competition was tough that year. Almost every movie with 8.0 rating or better is included. All the Academy Awards Best Picture nominees are included as well. I also mention the runners up that were close for whatever reason, but did not make it. It's usually a balance between BO gross and IMDB rating, with emphasis on the latter. I also look at number and type of awards won and nominated.
Feel free to throw rotten tomatoes at me for including TPM. I hate that movie, but it's hard to ignore the $431M in box office. The last movie on each list is usually the one I have the most doubt about. Also, feel free to make suggestions, but I'll leave it up to LD if she wants to make changes, it's her poll. :)
