A while back, I was all giddy and excited about getting the new "canon" star charts for Star Wars. Two weeks later I came down to London in search of a job, and have only been back up North for two fleeting visits since, forgetting my copy both times. Hence the lack of scans from yours truely.

Well, bugger me if Wookieepedia didn't come to the rescue: I managed to stumble upon these scans of some the maps. They're as "official" as they get - based off all the official notes that the EU writers use, officially endorsed and approved and what-not, and they're pretty much standard for their production from henceforth as well. Shouldn't be too much of a variation from what we're used to... but yeah.

Figured I'd consolodate the links together for y'all. :)

As an added bonus for online content, one of the artists made an Outer Rim map with Sectors (http://www.starwars.com/vault/books/atlas/news20090910/outerrim_sectors.jpg), which was released on the Star Wars website.

Regions:
- Arkanis Sector (http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/3/37/ArkanisSector.jpg)
- Chiss Ascendancy (http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/a/a7/ChissAscendancy.jpg)

- The Kessel Run (http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/6/63/KesselRun-rgb-lg.jpg)

Edit:

There's also an online companion (http://www.starwars.com/atlas/index.html) which, from page 2 onwards, lists all the included planets alphabetically, tells you which image you'll find them on, and provides a grid reference.

Pretty interesting stuff. Will take a bit to digest it all!

The only nitpick I can see on it so far is that they've got two Cathars it seems.

They do? Where'bouts?

Like I say, it's made by the "official" people, so who knows. Maybe Lucas wanted two. :p

Expansion regions, near Ploo

and

Outer Rim, near Dathomir.

I'd think the latter would be correct but you never know.

Hmm. Good eyes. I will have a hunt around, find out which is real... then obliterate the incorrect one from my copy and set up a correctified Fans one.

Now that I have the maps available in computer format, I'm going to set about using them to derrive a Fans map of the galaxy - throw in any extra planets we've created, and all that jazz. Don't hold your breath mind... but yeah. I'll get it done eventually.
