Looking back at the last 10 Best Picture Oscar winners, which one most makes you say: "I can't believe that one won!"

Slumdog Millionaire
No Country for Old Men
The Departed
Crash ...... 6 votes
Million Dollar Baby
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Chicago
A Beautiful Mind ...... 2 votes
Gladiator ...... 3 votes
American Beauty
I think all of these films deserved the award
I have no opinion ...... 1 vote

(PS. I wanted to make this a proper poll but there were too many to fit in)

Gladiator

A great film to be sure (and one of Crowe's best IMHO) but Best Picture??? I don't think it's that great.

I am with the Gladiator argument as well, it was a great movie, but shouldn't have won Best Picture.

Errr, FOTR (assuming you mean Fellowship of the Ring) was released in 2001; American Beauty won in 1999. o_O

I haven't seen enough of these films to voice an accurate opinion.

Gladiator, without a shadow of a doubt.

Crash, by far the weakest BP winner of the '00s

Crash is probably the weakest one. Although, I think A Beautiful Mind only won in 2001 because of the bias that still existed at that point regarding fantasy/sci-fi. FOTR was by far the superior film that year.

Definitely Crash, couldn't understand that one at all.

Oh fuck, I wasted a perfectly good rant.

Okay yeah whatever year even Battlefield Earth would have been a more deserving winner. There's a special hatred I have for American Beauty even Amiele cant match.

Too bad since American Beauty is one of the best BP winners of the last 25 years or so. :)

I agree here. Crash was probably the biggest shock since Shakespeare in Love won over Saving Private Ryan.

Flip a coin between Gladiator and A Beautiful Mind.

Going ABM even though I'm a Nash fanboy, it wasn't really all that groundbreaking.

I'll say A Beautiful Mind.

I don't even have any remote interest in seeing that film, and something tells me that is the opposite of what a "Best Picture" winner is suppose to do. Have people crawling to it.

I'll say Crash, I would pick Titanic or Shakespear in love but they miss the cut by a little bit.

I agree with this. Voting Crash.
