New to SWFans?

This is mostly for the beneit of those posters joining us from TGC.

The SW-Fans timeline is set roughly 3 years after 'Return of the Jedi'. In our galaxy, the Empire rules the roost. The Rebellion are a slowly growing force, who have recently loaned some of their ships to the Jedi. This convoy of ships effectively makes up the Jedi base, so they are roaming around the Galaxy, trying to gather together the Jedi who were lost in Emperor Palpatine's Purge. Force Users live, almost entirely, in secrecy. The Jedi and their relationship with the Rebel Alliance is the obvious exception, but announcing you have Force Powers throughout the Empire is equal to inviting the Imperial Inquisitors (Jedi Hunters) into your home. They are scary scary men, who will do scary scary things to you.

The Sith are very much a silent predator right now. On Onderon, we have a politically orientated faction, whose members are drawn from the Royal Court of Onderon, and range from a Sith Lord (the Prime Minister of Onderon) to his various apprentices, including a Knight who has command over a large number of Mandalorians.

What seems to be occuring from discussion lately is that there is also a desire for a more classic, religious style Sith - the likes of which we have seen in the EU. There are characters gathering over in the RPing forum right now to form a new Sith Order, but there's no reason why you couldn't push towards creating a faction of your own - or even just playing it solo, depending on what you see your characters goals as being.

There is no reason why you couldn't play the kind of Sith you have been playing at TGC - however the consequences are likely to be a little more severe! Some ideas I had were that you could have been Sith Warlords in territories of the Unknown Regions, or ancient Sith who have been in some kind of meditative trance, waiting for the 'stars to align' so that you can come back and wreak some havoc on the galaxy.

Just thoughts, there.. I would love to hear some of your ideas. Obviously the summary of the galaxy above is very basic, so if you need anymore flushing out, feel free to throw out any questions and either myself or another member of the forums will field 'em!

If anyone has any questions about the INQ (characters, history, why to avoid them, how you can join, etc) you can get a hold of any of the following and they'll be able to help you out:

Karl Valten - RL has sucked up most of my time but I usually check in once or twice a day. I'm currently one of the mods for the INQ forum and my character is one of the Grand Inquisitors mucking about.

Rossos Atrapes - One of the other more active Inquisitor types. He knows the ropes on most things INQ related as well. Nice guy and will help you out. His character is currently one of the administrators at Inquisitoriate HQ and one of the more skilled Adept Hunters.

Inkara Liet - She is always around under various names and also is on the inner circle for INQ functions. She spawns awesome ideas at ludacris rates, definitely a person to take too if you have some crazy ideas. Currently her character isn't all that well know in the INQ circels, but she is one of the scariest. Consider her kind of the Inquisitor's Inquisitor.

Tear - Also one of the mods at the INQ forums and a great guy to talk to too. He knows how to put ideas together and make things happens with style. He is the other Grand Inquisitor running about with all sorts of heretical behavior (not that Valten is much better honestly) and the defacto leader of the newest faction in our little universe.

Perhaps Malice and I can play the card of the Sith Lords that have been in hibernation, or stalking the Unknown Regions for Jedi that have been foolish enough to enter there. Who knows...I am sure we can work something out.

awesome history. I like the frozen in time scenerio or....if you inquisitors want something to do....maybe you guys discovered Malice in his cryo stasis chamber and take him back to the empire to wake him up and do torturing or inqusiting....or whatever it is you do.

I'm up for either Vega finding me, cruising the unknown with Anubis, or the empire finding me and either I manage to escape, or get rescued.

I have no problem with the idea of been or further my training with Anubis or with Malice also. I’m hoping to keep my states as knight. I like that the Mando’ade and the Sith are working together here it makes I politics less confusing for me. For the most part I could just use the fact I’m Mand’ade and my training in infiltrating/ espionage/assassination to hide the fact I’m a Sith to most of the galaxy. Like I said I hope I can still pull over most who Garith is.

Sounds good Malice, but you always did tend to favor being captured by the Empire...Still, Garith and I could always infiltrate a Star Destroyer using our Mandalorian wiles and take you home, possibly using you as bait to learn just how much things have changed...who knows.

The Onderon Mandalorian situation is unique as these are Mandalorians who have been living/stuck on the planet for about three thousand years. They will be markedly different from the Mando'ade who live in the galaxy, as they've had no contact for...ever.

My character is their Mandalore after she beat theirs in single combat.

The Mando'ade at large in the galaxy are a different group and I believe Tear is doing something with them and setting himself up as their Mandalore. I'm not positive about that though.

I was going to do the same thing, but just added Mandalore to my CT mostly for fun for now, I may unite some Mandalorians under my banner and recruit them, then we could have a few different Mandalorian bands roaming around.

I've spoken with Das about how I wanted to bring Quietus over to SW, and though the plotline is a bit fantastical it all works out pretty well.

On TGC Quietus inhereted the title of Priest(ess) of the Beast Tribes of Onderon through a rather long and complicated series of IC events. I plan on doing the same here, though I wont divulge my plot since that's no fun. :P Quietus will eventually find KA and we'll see how things go from there.

A note for those of you just arriving and wanting to make rank transfers:

For the first month you are at 'Fans, you will be given a probationary rank - this will be one rank lower than the one you wanted to transfers. Masters will start out as Knights, and Knights as Apprentices.

After you have been RPing here for a month, we will take a look at your request again.

Erm... as the one person who's mostly been playing the "other" Mando'ade around here... they're sort of something I keep a really close eye on. There are some things I wrote into the back history of my characters that I would really, really appreciate if it could hold. That history is the same as the old cannon one with the deviation happening where Fenn Shysa died DURING the Mando attempt to drive off the Imps from the planet. Since then Mandalore has been left largely alone by Imps, but is still considered a part of the Empire. Force users would generally have to keep a low profile, or deny being one....

I started a thread on the RP Discussions forum about Mandos.... disguised as a Role call...

Hm I have been toying around with the idea of starting RPing here but I never found the time...but since I am nearly finsihed with my diploma paper I might join the fun to check it out.
But I guess I would need some extra guidance in march. My only RP experience is Pen&Paper(Shadow Run and the German equivalent to AD&D) and the experience from here seems to be a lot different at least from what I have read on the forums(You don't roll dice...for decisions...strange).
