Interesting article, sad but true. I've been a fan of Harrison Ford for over 30 years now, always have been and always will. I guess I'm one of the few people out there who enjoyed the last Indiana Jones movie, but overall he hasn't made a decent movie in 10 years. Despite being a big fan, I haven't seen most of the movies he's made since What Lies Beneath because most of them have been suckfests. I seriously doubt I'll be seeing Extraordinary Measures, even though it does co-star Brendan Fraser...it just looks like a standard sappy made for TV movie. :\

I haven't seen a lot of his more recent movies (including the latest Indy film) so I can't say that I've really noticed the decline in the quality of his work.
Did you watch the clip of him auditioning Han Solo's lines? There was another video in the related clips of Kurt Russell auditioning the same scene. I am so glad Harrison got the part.

The only reason I see Ford's career having slid so much (besides a somewhat non-inspiring list of film choices the past decade) is that he has not been able to or willing to make the transition from middle-age leading man to that of older leading man/support role. This type of transition is forced upon virtually all actors as they age because of the very nature of Hollywood and how it casts roles. Those who adapt go on to have great careers as older actors. Those who don't just fade into irrelevancy.
Now, there's a good chance that he really doesn't care, and he's just phoning in a few performances here and there to pay the bills. However, if he does care, he needs to accept the reality that he isn't a leading man blockbuster draw anymore. There's good roles out there for him to play if he's willing to accept them.

I enjoyed the new Indie film too; granted there were some choices that they made which I wouldn't have done quite that way (aliens and that appaulling Russian accent, for example), but all in all I did enjoy it as a fun new outing for the character.
I can't say I've seen much of his more recent stuff either; but if there has been a decline, that saddens me. I have a soft spot for quite a few of his movies, and his performance has always been a big contributor to that. He's like Will Smith and Gary Oldman in that regard - generally speaking, if he's in a movie, I'll give it a watch because the statistics suggest I'll enjoy it.
If he's having a downward spiral... damn. :(
