This a follow-up to the Arkham Asylum game? Looks pretty interesting to me.

After all the positive press the first game got, a sequel was inevitable.

I still need to get the first game working on my PC >_<

I had it on PS3...definitely a good game, though it was rather odd, but still faithful to the Batman franchise

Final, official box-art released!

Interested decision to have that splatter of blood on Batman's fist and under his nose.

They had the same image on an issue of Games a few months back. Looks good.

In terms of collectors editions, there was apparently a Facebook poll by Rocksteady asking which of the following fans would prefer

The Joker Statue
Catwoman Statue
Catwoman Goggles
Batman utility belt
Two-Face coin

There doesn't seem to be any news yet as to whether they went with one of those options, or something else entirely.

Also, for our North American friends: http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/117/1177294p1.html

Robin will be an exclusive pre-order character to play in the game's challenge maps through Best Buy in North America. It's unclear as of now if Robin will be offered separately at a later time.

The Best Buy listing reads:

While supplies last, pre-order the game for an exclusive downloadable Robin character. Robin is a fully playable character in the new and improved challenge mode in Batman: Arkham City. The Tim Drake Robin pack is available exclusively to fans who pre-order the game from Best Buy on Xbox 360, PC and PS3.

Robin comes complete with his own unique gadgets and special moves, and will be playable in all challenge maps in the game, as well as two additional challenge maps that are included with the pack: Black Mask Hideout and Freight Train Escape.

The pack will also contain a bonus Red Robin character skin.

IGN has contacted Warner Bros. for additional information.

Black Mask hideout. Maybe he's one of the villains featured in the story mode.

I look forward to this very much. But as usual, I won't buy it at launch, but wait until it goes on sale on steam. :)

The first game was so entertaining and fun to play, with tons of references to Batman lore for both hardcore fans and those casually interested. Great story, great gameplay, with tons of visual and audio immersion. The whole swinging around and hiding up in the ceiling, or crawling through air ducts, sneaking up on the enemy with my batvision and setting up traps was right up my alley.

I played almost the whole game with the x-ray Batvision turned on. That mode was so cool :D

So apparently the collectors edition will include this:

Premium statue is produced by Kotobukiya to bring the excitement of the game into the real world
Flip through the pages of a brilliantly illustrated art book to soak up all the Arkham City content available
Get a jump on the competition when you receive exclusive access to add-on content before anyone else
Gotham Knight animated content brings the story to life

EDIT: Here's a picture of it

So apparently there's multiple 'Batman skins' for this game: http://arkhamcity.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=3955#p121974

You either have to pre-order or buy the game from a specific store to get the specific skins. Laaaame.

Great trailer. It looks like this game will be every bit as good as Arkham Asylum and more. Honestly, if it is just more of the same, I will be the last to complain. The first game had such fun gameplay and great story.

As if there were any doubt: Is Arkham City worth buying? YES http://kotaku.com/5849562/should-you-buy-batman-arkham-city-yes

And why you should buy the game new (or at least ensure that you have access to the Catwoman content): http://kotaku.com/5849771/this-is-why-batman-arkham-citys-locked-catwoman-content-makes-buying-the-game-new-the-smart-choice

It is getting 95-96% on metacritic, and all the norwegian game reviewers are raving about it.

Game of the year, it appears. :)

(I was probably not wrong to anticipate this game the most of upcoming releases!)

Any magazine/site can give a Game of the Year award. TYou could say the true top accolade up for grabs is the Golden Joystick Awards "Ultimate Game of the Year.

The Golden Joystick Awards is in its 29th year this year. You can vote for the various games here: http://www.goldenjoystick.com/awards/ultimate-goty

Aside from being a reportedly awesome game, it's also going to be the last time Mark Hamill voices the Joker - which is sad!

The Sinestro Corps skin looks pretty sic.

Unfortunately probably going to be a while before I'm playing this game or any new games for that matter. School comes first and all of that...

I (finally) finished the main storyline for this game, and am now playing the post-credits section.. basically just finishing off side quests and picking up all of the Riddler trophies.

One weird thing about playing this game is how my opinion on playing Catwoman has changed. I'm not a huge fan of her characterisation, but gameplay-wise she's interesting. Initially I thought she was fun to play, because her combat style feels much more fluid than Batman's. Then I got frustrated that she basically has a layer of flimsy cloth between her and Arkham, so she can get torn apart really quickly if you're facing opponents with firearms.

I've ended up feeling somewhere in the middle, and thinking that she's much more fun if you're wanting to play the game as stealthy as possible. Picking out a target, selecting your moment and then pouncing on them above before whipping yourself back to the rooftops is hella fun.
