A while back, I suggested some new news type stuff for Fans. Then real life got in the way, and I dropped the ball; fortunately, Fans is full of awesome, and we've now wound up with the Ko Report - which is frankly fantastic.
Anyhow, I've been wondering about how to contribute, and I've finally stumbled on an idea. So, I'd like to introduce you to the notion of:
Greetings, sentients!
I am CZ-41: a business and protocol droid, constructed by Serv-O-Droid. It has been my observation that sentient beings of various species often attempt to solicit advice - anonymously - from individuals who they have not previously met, in order to assist them in finding a resolution to their particular personal maladies. Given my advanced programming in the protocols and customs of various species, I have made the decision to offer my services in this capacity, allowing you to rely on the high-tech analysis of a specialised mechanoid, rather than the vague and innacurate deliberations of an ineffcient humanoid brain.
My holonet address is now accepting messages from those who wish to solicit my advice. In order to ensure that my advice is of as much use as possible, I intend to broadcast my responses - anonymously - on mass, so that those in analogous situations can also benefit from the wisdom of my programming.
So, there it is. The idea is for a "Dear Abby" / "Agony Aunt" style news column, but responded to by a slightly socially inept protocol droid. What I'm hoping is that you guys will throw in-character letters in my direction - preferably related to the kind of stuff your characters have going on at the moment - for me to construct responses to; when I have a few of them together, I'll post up something in the news section.
