Okay, I know I'm not the only one who's not been RPing a lot lately.

However, in 2010 I am going to remedy that! I pledge to post IC once a weekday with <strike>Lilaena De'Ville. And Arya Ravenwing. And Serena Laran. So three IC posts a day at the least (except on the weekends).</strike> one or more of my characters.

Anyone going to join me? You can do it!

And if you fail to post... you shall be berated endlessly by your peers. :twak

I, __________, pledge that I will post IC once a weekday with one or more of my RPing characters. Weekends are an exception, as well as vacations, camping trips to the boonies, and any situation that may render my internet or computer broken or unavailable.

That's a hefty goal...

I'm not going to sign up for something I'm not going to be able to do.

It's really not that hefty a goal, it just depends on the size of the posts in question, and since so many of us compose novellas for nearly every roleplaying post we make this can make things difficult. Personally, I've always been a fan of short posts, at least once the exposition is out of the way you can get down to some fun snappy character action and interaction. I can easily do this if my posting is reciprocated and the roleplay moves at a good pace since I find it very difficult to stay interested in a thread if there's been no progress for a few weeks. I really would like to see fewer short stories and more spontaneous roleplaying, the latter I find much more fun. Lately the roleplaying community has become a little stagnant and it is disheartening but I'm all for trying to light a fire under it once again.

One post - with the caveat that there has to be a thread to post to (if I'm still waiting on someone to reply then I don't get in trouble for not posting).

:p

And Droo, you need to bend over for your spanking you bad boy. :spank

I think I can try this...

But I think I'll go with "At least one RP post a day from at least one of my characters" and not name names. I never know who I am in the mood to write.

I know I know! But I haven't slept since Monday night so I just haven't been able to concentrate. If I get into it before work tomorrow afternoon then I'll get it done in the morning!

Good grief, go sleep or something. :)

Yeah, you're right, this is probably more realistic, considering having to wait for people to post, etc.

Okay. Alright. I give. I'll do it.

As much of a non-fan as I am of merciless harassment... I'm also a fan of writing-inflicted masochism (as evidenced by my continual participation in NaNoWriMo).

And, if we're writing a post a day, can't we wager challenges of, say, a completed thread a month... at least? ;) I don't mean that the whole thread has to be written in a month, but given that most of us have multiple threads at any one time, bringing threads to completion is possible.

Just a thought.

What if I'm up in the woods or in some crazy locale and can't get on an internet? I need a clause for that. Other than that, I can do this.

Vacations can be exceptions. I'll add that to my OP. As well as any act of God rendering the internet useless or your computer broken.

I am definitely in :D

*bounces*

At least one, if not several or all of my characters are clamoring to be written daily, so it works just fine for me :D

We should have some sort of 'punishment' for the first person to skip a day... >D

I'm stuck behind the eight ball waiting for everybody else now, so I'm not going to be the first lined up against the wall.

Ok I'm in.
