I will go to the animal shelter and get you a kitty cat. I will let you fall in love with that kitty cat; and then on some dark cold night, I will steal away into your home, and punch you in the face.
Oh Sue. :love

I watched a few episodes, but ultimately there isn't enough time in the day for me to to add this to all the shows I already DVR and watch. :p Its good though, I liked it. Just didn't like it enough to bump something else.

Damn, you must be watching a hell of a lot of TV!

Well, not really. We have a few shows piled up on the DVR unwatched completely. So can't add more without getting rid of the backlog.
Ok ok, I watch a hell of a lot of TV. >_< I'm terrible.

I don't follow it as closely as I did when it first started - I liked it, but the novelty kinda wore off early for me.
That and it reminded me too much of my awkward teen years :p

Bumpity bump for this thread since it premiered tonight in the UK. Two episodes in and I'm in love with this show. I really didn't know what to expect at all, just that I'd heard some good things from my sister and she was the one who suggested we watch Skins a few years ago so I trust her judgement.
Everything in the show is so bold and colourful, from the characters, to the production, the little choral harmonies of well known tunes between scenes, and especially the humour. I laughed so much throughout the two shows and was left with a big cheesy grin afterwards. Oh my word is this show for me and my big gay love for musicals! :love

What Droo said. Two episodes, and I'm completely hooked. I'm a total Gleek!

So, because I'm incredibly impatient with TV shows, I've watched the whole first series. Loved it and was impressed by how these rather archetypal characters broke the mould and surprised me with some stirring emotional moments. Mainly though, I just loved the show's unique Gleeness which has so many people rightly addicted, the bursts of music and song which just lift you up, smiling. Great stuff! Can't wait for the next season and speaking of which, anyone know when we can expect it?

I love how well you articulate things, Droo. :love
And I believe the rest of season one starts up again in April? There's nine more episodes to come in the spring, if I'm not mistaken.

Season 2 is only just filming... but I saw from the internet that Idina Menzel from Wicked is making a guest appearence. :3 *glee*

Some might say that tonight's episode was too saccharine but it's Glee and that's okay. Personally I felt it was the best of the three so far and I found it quite touching and allowed characters not normally in the limelight some depth. Plus I think I may love Quinn Fabray. Mmhm.

My obsession has a home on this forum. Yay!
I've gone from "Gee, are you talking about Glee again?!? What, another high school show?!?" to full-bore, uber-gleeky, know-every-episode-inside-out obsessed within three weeks. Okay, so I watched it a while ago and was impressed but it gave me a nasty flashback to some painful repressed memories, and I left it alone for a while.... and then returned to it two weeks before the hiatus was over - and haven't stopped obsessing about it since. I practically breathe that show.
It's made me do a couple of really weird things. Including staying up all tuesday nights so I can watch it on live-stream while chatting to some other fans..... it's been crazy. And I got my daughter addicted to it, too.
Every wednesday my emotional state is at a precarious place, which translates itself very badly on my ability to function at work.... I literally am walking around looking like a doped-up zombie. And I've never cried so much about fictional characters.

I'm sitting in that corner already. Last weeks episode had so many digs at Glee, it was hilarious. :D

LD is not alone, Glee sucks. Community isnt all that bad.
But they both pale to Big Bang Theory. Sheldon owns

Isn't it amazing how one person sees black and the other white? I think the Big Bang Theory is a very weak show.

I was glancing down the song list on Wikipedia, and saw that we're a few weeks away from Neil Patrick Harris' appearence in the show as Will's high school rival from Glee club... with whom he has duets!! :3

And its not that I think Glee sucks, I just don't want to watch it. And yes, I tried. ;) I'll remove myself from the thread though, sorry for the hijack. :D

Holy cow. I'm actually stunned by that - so nice to hear MM getting a song where he actually gets to show off his proper singing chops, rather than rapping.
Damn. The last thing I needed was another reason to wish the next couple of weeks away... >_<

No idea. Doesn't matter - the next time I'm flying over there. I dunno how, but I will.
There'd better be a DVD of this tour, tho. The last show was all kinds of EPIC.
Sooo... something new: one of the songs for tonight's ep.

So lately I've been feeling like the latest episodes haven't been quite up to scratch, compared to those of the first half of the season, but tonight the Funk episode saved the day. It did what a Glee episode does best: entertain. There was enough light character development to provide the substance, there was a real sense of conflict and build up between the two school show choirs, there were a couple of absolutely golden Sue Sylvester moments (her bit about Abraham Lincoln igniting a cow's fart and burning a town to the ground had me literally on the floor laughing), and best of all, it had a couple of belter songs. It's been a while since the ending of a Glee episode has had me sat on the edge of my seat, feet tapping, head bopping, big cheesy grin, but the Give Up the Funk scene at the end was just the best. Now, I'm very excited about next week's episode. Bring on the Regionals! :D<object width="640" height="385">

So what did you think of Journey?

Jun 14th, 2010, 07:34:51 PM
Didn't enjoy it as much as Funk, not by a long stretch. And I don't think the emotional pay-offs are anywhere near as satisfying as the writers seem to think they are - I found the conclusion quite predictable and saccharine, without being profound. The only thing that worked for me was Sue, and when we see her filling out her judge's slip it's quite touching. I hated Wilma, which is my apt portmanteau for the world's dullest super-couple, Will and Emma. Sweet in the first half, now bugging the hell out of me. And their entire relationship was handled very clumsily in the second half of this season. Where was she!?
Overall, the problem was this was a serious episode, the antithesis of Funk, and sadly, the writer's just don't have the best track record with serious. All in all, I found the ending to be far too sombre for its own good. Maybe my mind will change on a second viewing, but I'd rather revisit a fun episode.
