Imperial citizens across Mandalore woke to the shocking scene of an attempted prison break early this morning. Locals are quoted in saying they were able to see the columns of smoke rising from the first grade penitentiary by as early as six galactic standard time.
The news came as quite the shock since, near the beginning of the month, the fearsome terrorist known as Ani'la was captured in a decisive Imperial victory that resulted in the death or capture of nearly the entire Mandalorian terrorist movement. What is rumored to be an attempted prison break has since been quelled by the swift action of the Empires finest. With ready assistance from a nearby sector the terrorists were overwhelmed and their continued presence suppresses any further terrorist actions.
In related news numerous reports of public disorder largely involving terrorists, drug dealing gangs or rebel sympathizers have been subdued along the Hydian way. The Empires Public relations officer for the Imperial Navy advises its all the result of a new patriotic task force which sole designed purpose is to keep the citizens of the Empire safe.
Pirates! It's the rumor today amidst the colonies this afternoon. It seems that Fondor was the target of a massive pirate raid aimed at the systems fabled shipyards. The pirates were soundly defeated at Fondor, and before they could retreat, reinforcing fleets from Teyr, Bassadro, Vulvarch and the Devaron systems came in overwhelming numbers to cut off any chance of escape.
Trouble in paradise? The latest gossip from the Arkanis sector is leaning toward the possibility of civil war between the royal Regency worlds. Weather the Empire means to intervene on the public's behalf to stave off bloodshed is unknown.
And finally, if any of our audience out there today is attempting to send communications to either the Braxant or Glythe sectors, please be advised ion storms are disrupting all wav channels. Astrologists advise to try again near the end of the week as the storms should have passed by then.
That's it for us this morning. Please join HoloNet News again this afternoon at eight galactic standard for upcoming news.

Thanks for joining us this evening for your daily news update!
HoloNet News has forever been the place for our viewers to rely on for solid facts. Sometimes viewers these facts can be cold ones but here at HNN* we want you to know that together, we will get to the bottom of all truths. That is why since our morning broadcast last Monday our fearless reporters have done their best in continuing their investigations for the updates that matter to you.
Terror, shock and chaos has erupted in Imperial sectors all over the Empire this morning. When terrorists, calling themselves The Independents, began a systematic invasion across several mid and outer rim colonies:
Sources say that the terrorist cells have popped up from various distant and isolated outer rim military outposts. A few sighting have even confirmed these cells are being lead by long defunct, once loyal members, of the Empire. Fallen from their dutiful posts into the depths of criminalism and conspiracy before succumbing to carrying out these atrocities on the innocents they once protected. Many of these individuals stemmed from the corruption that had been eating away at the Imperial nobility since the death of our late Emperor.
Since the heir to the throne, Empress Miranda Tarkin (http://www.sw-fans.net/forum/member.php?u=2820), took her seat she has worked diligently to outcast and relieve these despicable men and women of their governorship and commands. Despite the hindsight to put these men to death for treason. A very small handful slipped away from the Empresses iron grasp and into the shadows. Now they continue their villainous ways in an outrageous attack on innocent and loyal Imperial worlds.
For viewers urgently awaiting news on the planets affected. Please be advised before sending a transmission to your loved ones that Imperial forces have cut communication along the Hydian Way, starting at Mandalore and continuing to the start of the Corporate Sector, for security reasons. The Imperial Navy refrained from commenting on exactly why this was done but insist that the communications black out is for the benefit of forces working in those combat areas.
Now dear audience, I know what some of you may be thinking: What's to stop these minor Outer Rim rebellions from coming here to the Core or possibly even the intruding on the closer Colony Worlds? Well we cannot inform you completely of Navy strategies or movements for obvious reasons. But we can tell you the Navy has managed to bottle up the attack in the Mandalorian sector. That is where the mainstay of the fighting is now occurring.
Yes, I said the Mandalorian sector. As some of you know we reported earlier of the Mandalorian prison break that was thwarted. Even though those prisoners surely lay dead or dying with their escape plans foiled by our loyal soldiers. It still seems some pockets of resistance are still being flushed out. This sector, according to our sources will be the front to which our glorious Imperial forces flush back the disgusting terrorists cells. Pushing them back into the farthest reaches of our galaxy. Until finally, when there are no more places to hide, they will crush this insurrection and our galaxy will once again know unity and peace.
Thank you for joining us during these growing times of urgency.

Further reports have begun filing into the new station since last Mondays terrible announcement. The latest coming from an unidentified source. Representing the battle that took between Imperial forces and a small band of pirates at Fondor.
A warning to our viewers, some of the footage about to be shown may be disturbing to some.
The news anchor cuts out as, what seems like a security recording, blinks to life over the feed. The audio is garbled slightly by static but quickly clears up.
---
"Fondor Shipyards this is the Imperial Star Destroyer 'Inevitable' requesting permission to dock for resupply." The message bleeps nearly monotone coming through the sound speakers of what looks like the bridge of Fondor station. The communication pits are full and surrounding the crews are view ports filled with the bustle of station traffic.
"God damn. Thats the twenty second ship from the Teyr sector today." An officer looking to be the rank of Colonel was standing rigid and straight, hands clasped firmly to the small of his back. Next to him was an ensign dutifully working at his command console. "Advise the 'Inevitable' to take a number and get in the queue. Some fool Moff from Vulvarch had the wisdom to end his fleet maneuvers at our door step this morning. All of his ships are currently awaiting resupply as well."
"Aye, Colonel." The ensign winched just a little as he sorely rubbed his fingers. It had been one of the busiest days since his career began on the station just two weeks ago.
"And contact that last ship from Teyr. I want to know why we're getting so many arriving from that sector today."
"Aye, sir." A few moments of silence past as the ensign tapped away diligently on his keypad. "The Inevitable advises fleet exercises on our boarder. The ships arriving are ones experiencing technical difficulties...sir there's something weird."
"Empress Tarkin's new Moffs no doubt whipping their sectors into shape. What is it Ensign?"
"Scanners are picking up weapon signatures priming."
"From where?" The Colonel asked, his voice hinting no concern. With so many maneuvers being run it was likely one of the ships simply missed powering down a weapon system.
"Everywhere. All the ships waiting in queue. Some even currently in docking procedures. Even the Inevitable is powering up their weapons."
"Ah, your first weapons scan glitch." The Major chuckled understandingly. "I remember my first signature glitch. Scared the eight hells right out of me."
"Sir, its not a malfunction. I've rechecked it twice." Several other voices sounded in urgent acknowledgment from the sunken communications decks just behind the Colonel.
The warm look of the officer's face drained into a look of pale queasiness. "Must be some sort of mistake." His voice quivered slightly, but it was enough to make the bridge crew slow uneasily. "Activate defensive shielding and hail them."
The ensigns fingers swiftly smacked the commands to activate the stations shields. But even as blue lights lit reassuringly over the console, the scene unfolding in the view port beyond the top of his screen told the Ensign it was too late. Several flashes erupted from the orbiting Star Destroyers sending a surge of green biting into Fondor station. Even though no one shot in particular struck the bridge directly the concussive force that rippled explosively along the hull rocked every crew member to the floor. Consoles shattered into a spray of glass and a shower of searing sparks. The lighting fixtures blew out leaving the security recording in momentary darkness until the emergency lights filled the room with red.
The ensign struggled to his feet. A very apparent head wound seeping down his neck contrasting the lighter gray of his uniform. He leaned close to his console trying to read something too insignificant for the recording to show clearly. Then spun around searching the crumbling bridge for the Colonel.
"Colonel! Hundreds of ship signatures being detected coming out of hyperspace."
The Colonel was several feet away, slowly rising from his knees. "Imperial?"
"Yes sir! It looks like the ships running maneuvers from Teyr." The ensign sounded relieved. Running a hand, that moved a little too slickly through his bloodied hair.
The Colonel wasn't so easily set at ease. He still remembered the 'Inevitable' being one of the ships who's weapons began charging when the attack began. Before he could speak several bolts of green slammed into the bridge enveloping the crew in violent burst of flame. The security camera shook uncontrollably as the rolling flames snapped the feed to black within seconds of the initial blast.
---
The news feed fades from black to show the anchor sitting in disbelief. Her mouth slightly agape. A voice in her ear slowly stirring her back to attention. "I um. That's where the camera's recordings end. We have sent several transmissions to Imperial Navy command to confirm what this feed represents. Even though they did not reject the attestation of the recording being real they still advised the shipyards were assailed by pirates. The images of fellow Star destroyers opening fire, merely holo ghosts from ECM disrupting electronics during the battle. The Military still advises they have control of Fondor but any attempt to cross into the sector has been blockaded by a picket of Imperial warships. We also have been unable to directly contact the installation or any of our contacts on the planet proper.
That's all we have for now." The anchor glances to the side, away from the camera, still looking physically shaken from witnessing the recording. "But we here at HoloNet News will continue to bring you the best in news coverage. And please, remember the sacrifice of our men and women. Fighting in service of the Empire. Goodnight."
