well - Julie Taymor rocks. She's got a weird style that I find addictive.

I read about this when I was in NYC in Sept. Evan Rachel Woods kicked ass in Across the Universe and indeed Taymor rocks, not to mention the music is written by Bono and the Edge, this is looking mighty good.

Then again, I love musicals.

No. Just... no.

I can see no good coming of this.

The only way they could jam-pack more fail into this is by casting Louie Anderson as Peter Parker, and Joan Rivers as Mary Jane Watson. Though that add so much more awful that it wraps back around to being good.

I don't put a lot of faith in Bono and The Edge as song writers anymore, unfortunately, so I'm inclined to agree with Mitch.

Yes, they used to be good, back when they weren't pretentious gobs of ego. But, their music is all generic and easily forgettable now, with no real meaning or lasting effect. Back in the late 80's, though, they were great.

I would agree it's bound for epic fail except that Taymor is the director. that alone is enough for me to actually want to fly to NYC and see what it turns out to be.
