Wow some crazy games so far. Dallas losing to the Redskins 6-0. The Chiefs and Steelers tied up at 24. Indy-Baltimore in a tight very good game right now.

Bizarro World again...Dallas was almost shut out by the Redskins, PIT & KC are in a shoot-out, yikes, this season is making my hair turn even more gray.

I have to say I liked the way the IND-BAL game ended. :evil

Chiefs pulled off a huge upset, big win for them. First time they won back to back games in 2 years.

I know I am stunned. I am a big Chiefs fan and thought sure they were going to get blown out. I think the Chiefs are getting better. I think they could win 6 games, and build on that for next season. Detroit won a shoot out over Cleveland. The Browns have scored more than 20 points all season in a game, not sure how they managed to score 37.

Edit After some great early games, the late games look like they will be all blowouts.

Edit 2
Two of the games turned out closer, first big surprise with Oakland beating Cincinnati. I have to say that is a bigger shock for me since the Raiders have looked so bad. Rams gave the Cardinals a little trouble after Warner got hurt.
Chargers and Patriots roll, watch out for the Chargers I think they are a dangerous team and can beat anybody.

Rutabaga
Nov 22nd, 2009, 06:23:01 PM
Wow, KC beats PIT and now OAK beats CIN. Big ol' upsets.

The SD-DEN game was the one I was really looking forward too, and I actually got kinda bored since it was such a blowout :lol. But very, very happy since the Chargers won :).

Hey, I just saw this post...congrats, jjwr! And I hope she's doing okay!

The sting of the Steelers losing to a crappy AFC West team is somewhat eased by the fact that the Bengals did the same thing.

I suspect Marvin Lewis called Mike Tomlin and said, "You know, we both had a tough game last week. Let's just tell our guys to take this one off."

EDIT: Oh, wait, babies? Congratulations, jjwr! :D

Hey the Chiefs are getting better. I think they could win 3 more games. They have 2 games with Denver, Cleveland, and Buffalo left. They can win 3 of those games. I just think the Chiefs are a tough team to play at KC. They took Dallas into OT a month ago and gave them all they could handle.

To be fair, the Redskins gave the Cowboys all they could handle. ;)

And hooray for babies!

I was watching the PHI-CHI game last night but fell asleep during the 4th quarter. Turned out I missed a full moon unexpectedly coming out on live TV, dammit. :lol

I guess that's called finding a seam in busted coverage.

Titans narrowly beat the Texans. Johnson and a great defensive effort is the reason why the Titans won. Brown missing two FGS didn't help the Texans though.

Dragon

An excellent game, and another heart-breaker for the Texans. I usually get their games here in Lubbock, so I've developed a soft spot for them, but I've also learned they have a real difficulty closing the deal on tight games, especially big games in their division. Two weeks after missing the winning FG against Indy, though... that's rough.

I'm still tempted to pick them at Indy next week, though. :)

Okay, on to the tally:

Dragon: 13-3
Yog: 13-3
Jedi Master Carr: 12-4
Nathanial K'cansce: 12-4
Rutabaga: 12-4
Ryan Pode: 12-4
Aurelias Kazaar: 11-5
Liam Jinn: 11-5
Lykaios: 11-5
Xavier Synik: 11-5
jjwr: 10-6
Figrin D'an: 9-7
Miranda Tarkin: 9-7
Shadow Storm: 9-7
Lilaena De'Ville: 8-8 (did not pick)

And the updated results:

1. Liam Jinn: 110-50 (99)

2. Jedi Master Carr: 109-51 (97)
3. Dragon: 108-52 (95)
3. Xavier Synik: 108-52 (97)
5. Ryan Pode: 107-53 (95)
6. Rutabaga: 105-56 (92)
7. Yog: 104-56 (91)
8. jjwr: 103-57 (93)
8. Nathanial K'cansce: 103-57 (91)
10. Aurelias Kazaar: 102-58 (91)
11. Figrin D'an: 100-60 (91)
11. Lykaios: 100-60 (89)
13. Lilaena De'Ville: 94-66 (86)
13. Miranda Tarkin: 94-66 (85)
15. Shadow Storm: 85-75 (76)

Congrats on the new baby! I got me one too. :) Hope that the NICU stay wasn't too serious, and glad to hear you got to take her home.

Me too, since Indy has been kinda lucky to skate by in their last 3 games. They're due to lose one somewhere along the line.

The really hard one to pick for next week, I think, is going to be next Monday's game. When I saw the commercial for it, I let out a groan and figured it may be a coin toss in some respects...Patriots vs. Saints. Should be a good game!

Thanks for the kind words everyone! She's ok, just a small infection so they kept her in the ICU just to be safe, more inconvienent for us than her. She was 8lbs 1 oz, 19.5" long...Chloe Leia Reil is the name, course my girlfriends 10yr old son picked out the middle name, it goes with t he Irish sound of the rest of it so we went along with it.

I picked teh Colts to lose this week and theys hould have, the Ravens hsould have taken a queue from Belicheck and gone for it on that 4th and 2...gotta get the points!

They are probably the worst 10-0 team you'll see....not that they are bad but they are very beatable, you know the Pats will be confident if they match up again in the playoffs.

Dragon
Nov 24th, 2009, 11:39:34 PM
In all fairness, the 16-0 Pats looked very beatable in a few of their later games, most notably against the Ravens. They genuinely needed a lot of luck to pull that out, as would any perfect team in the NFL. Heck, the Lions needed luck to go 0-16.
