Roleplaying

Back in the day that's exactly what I came here for to drown myself in a world that wasn't real. A world where I could forget about the one outside my window. I came to fans exclusively for a time when the split happened because I angered to many people at the other place.

Oddly though I was eventually got forgiven over there and found more people were actually willing and wanting to rp with me there unlike here. Fans a place that I promoted and heralded as the place that gave me a second chance. I felt myself being shunned and purposely pushed out of story lines I found a niche I could fit into. Or even basically being told I wasn't wanted or needed. I found myself being told my ideas weren't good enough only to later see the same people who told me that reinventing the same Idea as there own.

So obviously I'm no longer here for the rp.

The People

At one time I would have said yes but the Majority of the people here don’t talk to me. I can name maybe three people here who really speak to me. So other than those three not really because as a majority I found myself feeling very unwelcome here for a long time now.


Nowhere Else To Go!

That's the only reason I can think of at the moment I mean most of today/yesterday I read a few things around here that just put me in a shitty mood. Made me try and think why I stick around.

I mean it's not for the story lines going on or that have gone on rp wise I was pretty much excluded from most of them and the ones I almost got into at the last moment I was pushed out of.

People wise even some of the best people I can think of here I pretty much had to beg to rp with at all. Oddly even the person I consider my best friend around these parts I had to fucking beg to help me save my main character (blade) upon the reset from falling into the abyss.

So in conclusion I’m here just because a couple of people asked me to stick around even though I feel unwelcome and like an outsider here. I feel more welcome at a place I once told to fuck off then I do here. But that is why I’m here a few people and nothing else to do.

I know of several writers on these boards who have echoed statements similar to Blades. I think Swfans, due to fact it is a hobby for many people, can be a tough environment to write in at times.

I think because we tend to share stories, collaborate and create all in one or several universes people tend to take personal stakes in what they do here. And then there are those who don't, and treat it purely as a game. Obviously there can be a clash of ideals when casual and more serious writers come to cross roads.

I believe this is more due to the fact this small community more or less communicates through text which can be a bit dodgy in its 'tone of voice' at times. Add to this a mixing pot of personalities and its becomes like high school, sadly.

And like high school a lot of getting involved is taking a chance and putting yourself out there. There will always be people, groups of people even, who disagree or reject to an idea or story you have. This is the internet its just the way it is. Everyone's got an opinion and since this is their playground too its their right to voice it, however cruel that opinion might be.

Since my return to these boards I sent out feelers to a lot of writers and managed to stumble upon several of the warmest, most supporting, group of friends I've come to know at Swfans. All of whom I have a lot of respect for. But there are also dickheads who swim around this place like sharks waiting to take a bite out of your ass any chance they get. You just gotta surround yourself with the good and ignore the bad.

Then keep writing. And make sure you're writing for yourself.;)

No, it's not clashes or ideals or anything liek that. It's just flat out called real life.

I absolutly appreciate what Blade had to say. I havent given a shit about this place for years and the last bit of writing was of a certain trip across the USA in 2005/06, which was rather personal. I just dont GET all the RP stuff anymore - but not because there's no one to pit minds against, but the simple fact is real life came calling and like the majority of posters you eventually just cant keep going.

Plus to be honest, I got such a brutal case of reality hit me due to divorce and trying to live day to day with a business and clients, I just cant dip myslef into another world all that easily anymore. And when I think about trying to dip my hand back in.... I just cant grasp what is going on anymore and I just cant fnd the effort to care.

So thence the real problem is that real life bites you on the ass, the people you associate with in the Interwebs have to slide by and then eventually you just forget to come back and that's it.

Kinda a pity, I do have some pretty decent work here in archives.
