Well my due date was Saturday the 7th and it has come and gone with little to show for it. :) I am very uncomfortable, however, if that counts for anything.

I am scheduled for an induction on Friday the 13th if I don't go into labor before then. So! Expect to see me even less by the end of the week. I will get some pictures up here as soon as possible, of course. :)

That's about it for now!

You realize that if the wee one is born on Friday you have to at least make the middle name "Jinx". :p

Seriously though, hope everything goes smoothly.

Ooooo, Friday the 13th...have to name him Jason? :cool

All kidding aside, I hope everything goes okay too!

Hope everything goes well! :)

I'd have to name HER Jason, and that isn't gonna fly. ;)

Thanks for the well wishes, I'm still in a holding pattern here..... ^_^;

It's probably too late to do a baby pool I guess.

Are they doing a C-sec? I know you said they were inducing but I didn't know if that's part and parcel. Hope everything goes great no matter what.

Inducing is different than having a c-section. I'll be given pitocin to stimulate the uterus into contracting and starting labor.

And its not too late to guess how big the baby will be! Guess away!

15 pounder. Big bucks, big bucks, no whammies...

Time to think big.

21 pounder.

Aside from that, hope everything goes well. And in remembering one of the events that occured on a November Friday the 13th, you could name the baby Norman or Daniel, but again that isn't fitting for a female baby.

You guys are sadistic and cruel, and waaaaaay off.

Keep in mind my first baby was 5 pounds, 12 ounces and ten days early. This one will be about a week "late."

Sophie Marie was born at 6:55 pm Friday Nov. 13th. 9 lbs, 5 oz, 21 1/2 inches long and her head is 14 1/2 inches around.

We're all doing well, although my blood pressure has been elevated today and I'm supposed to stay in bed.

Picture!

Very cute :D

Also it was surreal seeing your sister posting updates via your FB account during delivery. It made for a hilarious mental image to say the least. Before I saw the note that said it was her, I was thinking "Damn, she's multitasking a bit more than is probably healthy!"

Thanks everyone :)

And yeah, those 'during delivery' updates were certainly not me, lol!

Congratulations to little Sophie on her sudden emergence and to her mother for all that she has done and will do. :)

Don't be afraid of that strange, yet somehow very familiar, doting, touchy-feeley creature you've found yourself smooshed up against. Like most parents, she means well, but like all of us have lost the secret ultra-intelligence of babykind and is a mere adult human. ;)

Thanks everyone!

She's doing great - a little jaundiced but not bad enough we need to put her under lights. She's 8lbs 12oz, already regaining weight (was 8lbs 8oz on Monday). For those that don't know its totally normal for infants to lose up to 10% of their birth weight at first, then the ounces start packing back on. Sophie never dipped as low as they 'allow' for and she's already picking it back up, so its great!

Now I need to go wake her up and feed her again.
