Anybody getting this?
Released this Friday for PC in the UK (on Steam at least). My copy is pre-loaded and ready to play the moment it's available.
I bought the PS3 version on Saturday and have been thoroughly enjoying myself. Using a badass weapon to kill a badass enemy is, well, badass. The guns are very sastisfying, especially the elemental ones when they proc. I've got a shotgun which can deal acid splashes upon impact, a sniper rifle which can cause explosions when it hits, and a machine gun which has the ability to set enemies on fire. Then there's revolvers, repeaters, SMG's and rocket launchers. I have an awesome launcher which fires three rockets at a time and the spiral around each other as they travel.
Can't wait to play some proper co-op over the coming weekend on the PC.

I've been playing it with my step brother non-stop since it came it out. The game is made to be enjoyed with others, and honestly it gets difficult without someone watching your back.
We're on our second playthrough now and we thought it'd be easy... We were wrong. The enemies level adjust, have new names, abilities, and stronger weapons. Most enemies have some form of elemental weapon which is a nice change in gameplay since in our first playthrough we only went up against plain damage and the rare elemental so we equiped health regen and high capacity shields, now we go for resistance and high cap.
The weapons are sick. I've been told there are about 3.6 million different variations of launchers, SMGs, rifles, snipers, pistols (revolvers and repeaters), shotguns, grenades, and the ever elusive Eridian weapons which are alien varients of the standard guns. So far we've looted only four Eridian weapons. These weapons are energy based and have infinite ammo which needs to recharge.
This game has a lot to offer and is well worth purchasing and playing with friends.
So c'mon catch a ride.
It's a game of the year contender.

Only £26 on Steam Jenny :)
Seriously, you'd have to be dead not to enjoy this game. The visual style is fun and very dynamic with lots of colour variation all the time. And as for the weapons, it's apparently closer to 17.5 million possible weapons since they're generated on the fly from dozens of different scopes, barrels, bodies, stocks, shoulders, clips, grips and accessories... per manufacturer, of which there are nine.
The enemies are over the top and a lot of fun. The game has WoW-esque elite enemies who have a 'Badass' prefix to their name and are nasty as hell.
Buy it and get it pre-loaded ready for Friday!
I've gone the soldier, so my weapons of choice are shotguns and combat rifles (mainly because I can send points on skills which directly improve my effectiveness with them. But anybody can get proficient with any weapon simply by using them - each hit gets you proficiency points and you eventually gain a proficiency level which increases stats for that weapon type such as higher accuracy, more stability wth sniper rifles, higher damage or faster reloading.
I can spec myself in the medic tree, allowing my shots to heal my fellow adventurers - and if there's an enemy behind them, my shotgun is articularly effective as the same shot can heal my ally and damage the enemy.
The 4 different characters have quite different playstyles and three skill trees each - think WoW talent trees. But a game can include any mix of characters - so you could have everyone playing as the soldier if you wish.
Lots of fun, lots of options, lots of variety. And lots and lots of guns.
Oh, and there's vehicular carnage too in the form of runners - desert buggies with a gun turret, allowing for a driver and gunner. But with up to 4 players and only one vehicle spawnable at a time, it's a minor blemish on an otherwise awesome game with a lot of replayability.

You can spawn two vehicles, there's an option near the top of the menu for you to hit a bumper to switch which model you want spawned. They're only slightly different in appearance I believe, you should also be able to change turrets from a machine gun to a rocket launcher. If you're in the driver seat with no gunner hold your X button to auto-lock the turret on target.
Usually we've stuck with one runner, but two is best for missions going up against other vehicles for that extra fire power. Also you can consider runners mobile teleport points, if the vehicle is still spawned and you find yourself at a New-U station with a vehicle bay you can run to the bay to port yourself to the vehicles driver seat wherever it may be. This is handy as it cuts down travel time through hostile turf.

Oh thats good - I read you can only spawn one. Excellent news :)
I now basically have infinite ammo on my soldier - got a 'Support Gunner' class mod with 10 Team Ammo Regen on it. Some weapons I have regenerate ammo quicker than I can shoot.
What class have you gone for?

I play a hunter focusing in the sniper tree with points in the rogue tree for extra Bloodwing damage and increased loot. I currently have a Scavenger class mod equipped which adds +3 team scavenge extra items, and +2 team scavenge rare items. The class mod is great as we've seen more coloured items drop, and even looted an orange shotgun from a dumpster.
I really enjoy the sniper tree's final skill that when maxed out lets all my shots from any weapon ignore shields. It's really proved its worth going up against Guardians who have the toughest shields in the game. I can pretty well one shot them while my bro has to widdle away shields before even doing any serious damage.
My bro started playing as a Soldier which is great soloing since the turret acts as a second combatant to draw fire, but in our co-op playthroughs he chose the Siren which in its higher levels gets incredible powers. That class drops major elemental DOTs especially when combined with class mods that increase elemental damage. He can pretty well stand alone and wait for whatevers around to burn itself out unless it's got resistance.

My Soldier is Level 26 so I can be specced as a medic (the cauterize skill makes my friendly fire heal allies) and I also have a class mod with sick ammo regeneration. I'd be up for a game so if you see me on, just ask. Steam ID is Superego
