Somewhat along the same lines as the awesome video thread, I thought it'd be neat to start up a collection of some of the things we all like to watch; documentaries, docudramas, smaller budget flicks, things that we've stumbled across, maybe even a few episodes of a particular show that you enjoy.

To start us off, here are a few of the things I've been watching today:

Necronomicon

A collection of three segments based off of some of H. P. Lovecraft's short stories:

The Library - an entirely fictional wrap-around used to tie in all three stories. Stars Jeffery Combs.

The Drowned - Loosely based off of 'The Rats in the Walls'. Stars Bruce Payne.

The Cold - Based off of 'Cool Air'. Stars David Warner.

Whispers - Based off of 'The Whisperer in the Darkness'.

The Resurrected

This is probably the most faithful adaptation of a Lovecraft story, since it's essentially 'The Case of Charles Dexter Ward'. It does star Chris Sarandon, who is probably best known as Prince Humperdinck, and who was also the voice of Jack Skellington from A Nightmare Before Christmas.

Dagon

Yay more Lovecraft! It does get a bit gory towards the end, and there are boobs.

One of the funnest movies to watch in the cold months, I make it a point to reserve time for Out Cold every December. In the same vein as Supertroopers, it's a fun movie to turn your brain off and enjoy :)

In honour of our DC canon character's roleplay, here's something I've been watching.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold

It's cool for the cartoon characters, but some of the depictions of Batman's interactions with other characters are damned hilarious. And also, the Birds of Prey are apparently musical. What the deuce?

You can find links to the entire series here (http://www.anilinkz.com/batman-the-brave-and-the-bold/batman-the-brave-and-the-bold-episode-12/)

Just saw this thread now while in work and I have to add: I recall no mention of boobs in Dagon. I shall have to check out that show just to see where the hell the story goes!?!?!?!?!?!?

I am resurrecting this thread!!! Fear the necro-thread!!

I discovered the animated Gen13 feature that was never released in the states. There is no part four since apparently YT thinks there is porn in it, but whatever. Even despite that, I'm surprised and rather delighted at the adult themes and kind of graphic shit that was put into this. I've only gotten through to part 5 myself, but here's part one. You all can find the subsequent parts on your own since you're all big boys and girls :)

That was great, Christin! Especially the comments during the "loading screens" every single one I've thought before.

HolycrapholycrapholycrapHOLYCRAP!!!

So, way back in the day (1994), there was an old pilot for a tv show that never got picked up - Island City. I watched it, loved it, and then it never came to fruition. For so many years I could never remember what it was called, and ended up having to do a google search with what I could remember the plot to be, along with other little tidbits that my thirteen year old mind could recall. Eventually I put in the right word strings, and was rewarded with the name of that sadly failed show - Island City.

Alas, there was no video or remnants of the old pilot that I'd gotten such a kick out of (and yes, a fair bit of inspiration too, judging from some of my old writing before coming to Fans).

BUT!!!

On a random whim, I plugged in Island City to youtube, and heavens to murgatroyd it's there now! In all of it's early 90's glory, IT IS ON YOUTUBE :eee

So, I give you Island City. The failed pilot that I never truly forgot ^_^

I had stumbled across this show years back, having found a DVD of the first season at a Ross. Being that I'm a sucker for unique cartoons, I snatched it up and have found a particular liking to it. It's called The Delta State; it's a Canadian cartoon that was filmed first with live actors, then completely rotoscoped. Apparently it was based on a comic that never took off, and sadly the cartoon itself was only two seasons. All of the episodes are on Youtube :)

So, here's The Delta State. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do :)

Watched a little, looks intriguing! I wonder why they put that extra line on everyone's noses though, it's distracting.

Ha! Yeah, it bugged me a little bit when I first started watching, but now I find that I rather like it. It's a really neat style, I must admit :D
