Hey guys.
So here's the deal; I've been dealing with some health problems for awhile now and as frustrating as it was, it wasn't anything that we couldn't handle. It still isn't, but we recently received information which has really proved to be overwhelming and forced us to take a step back and re-evaluate how we were treating the situation, both at home and medically.
First: I'm going to be okay. It's nothing immediately life threatening and it's so far from the worst it could be, something for which I am extremely grateful.
This has, however, taken a huge toll on us as a family and in an individual sense and I'm struggling right now with the emotional processing that comes with big changes like these. There's a great deal of uncertainty and worry floating about and paired with the stress of trying to take in mountains of information and decide on a plan of action, there's been a lot of unpleasantness the last few weeks.
Unfortunately, I just don't have the energy to deal with much beyond this right now. My roleplaying status isn't terribly active anyway, but to those people who I am in threads with, I'm so, so sorry, but I just need to step away for a while until everything settles down.
If the application goes through, next month I'll be checking in to a facility on the mainland that provides a lot of help and alternative therapies for stuff like this. We're hoping that it can help to provide a steady point from which we can recentre and progress from. It's a three-week retreat program and looks to be very dedicated to equipping people with the right skills to cope and thrive.
I'm hoping to be able to be back in December or thereabouts, RP-wise, but nothing is for sure. Right now I need to focus on my family. I'll be online some but not in a creative capacity.
Thank you so much for understanding and again, I'm so sorry. I'll miss you all like crazy!
Lots and lots and lots of love,
Liz
