If you couldn't guess from the trailer, MU2 is the second in the Marvel Ultimate Alliance series and the story revolves around the 'Civil War' story arc. A fight between two superheroes causes hundreds of civilian casualties, live on TV, prompting SHIELD to propose the creation of the Superhuman Registration Act. When the act is passed, Captain America refuses to sign, effectively turning himself into the leader of a resistance force opposed by Iron Man, Mr Fantastic and a variety of other government goons.
Just like MU1, this is a dungeon-crawling four-player clusterfuck - and I mean that in the best possible way. As you can probably see from the trailer, the game pretty much revolves around beating the crap out of people/things/The Thing. You have a fairly diverse selection of characters to choose from (though some become unavailable once you decide if you are for or against SRA - but who wants to play as Mr Fantastic anyway? :rolleyes) and they all have a selection of increasingly badass moves, some of which you can combine with other characters moves in an ass-kicking 'Fusion' technique.
I didn't get to play through the whole game yet, but so far I'd say I much prefer this one to the first, primarily because of the story. There are certain characters who I miss having access to (Nightcrawler :() but the fact that you get an entirely different story and set of enemies depending on which side you pick makes it seem like this would be a game you'd want to play through more than once. Plus, I'm guessing more characters will be added as downloadable content in the future ;)
I think it's probably the type of game best played with a couple of friends, so you can really make the most of the characters abilities to work together :)
