The Texans are locked in another close, high-scoring divisional struggle, though they're starting to look physically dominated on both sides of the ball by the Jags. And, hey, look at the 49ers staying close to what's-his-face and the Vikings.

EDIT: And by "staying close," I mean "taking the lead on a 20-yard TD pass." ;)

EDIT: Aw, the Texans just had a touchdown called back on a real ticky-tack call... and now they fumbled the ball away to the Jags with just two minutes left.

Did anyone watch the Bucs game? I'm glad to learn they kept the Giants to only 24 points, but I'm confused as to how the Bucs didn't score any points at all, despite their O having been very good up to this point in time.

Their rushing game was non-existent and Leftwich had all of 25 yards passing in 3 quarters. I think they had ... 1 first down and all of 35 total yards in those 3 quarters too. When the Bucs put in their backup QB, they managed an 80 yard drive to get to the 5 yard line... and then turned it over on downs for not being able to hit pay dirt.

I'm in the middle of helping my parents move, we all stopped to watch the last 2 minutes of the game. I had to fight really, really hard not to let a major blue streak of cursing fly in front of my parents. :grumble

On a much happier note, congratulations to the Lions for finally winning a game. :)

Probably about as much as the rest of us 9er fans right now. At the same time though, 9ers did kinda shoot themselves in the feet a bit in that first quarter. If it hadn't been for the blocked punt for a TD they would have been behind the 8 ball going into the half.

Edit: and my gamble on a couple games are not paying off... 5-4 so far and some teams need to smarten up in the second set of games so I can end up with a half decent week.

Gah. Limas Sweed's drop and Ben's bad pick cost the Steelers 14 easy points. They gave away every chance they had to win.

That said, that was a spectacular drive by the Bengals to take the lead in the closing two minutes. It made me sick, but I know how ecstatic Bengals fans have to be right now.

I'm a little confused...if there have been 48 games, how come everyone in second place is 34-11, which adds up to 45?

Oh, and that graphic..."Brent"? :lol

The Packers-Viking game is going to be really, really hard to pick in some ways. I want the Packers to win, but right now I'm leaning toward picking the Vikings :grumble simply becaue of home field advantage.

Bad news for the Dolphins... Chad Pennington re-injured his shoulder and has just been placed on IR. It will be surgically repaired, which takes him out for the season.

The Dolphins traded for Thigpen to replace him. Not a bad choice considering he can only play in the spread offense which is what the Dolphins run.
