Guinness good for you - official

The old advertising slogan "Guinness is Good for You" may be true after all, according to researchers. A pint of the black stuff a day may work as well as a low dose aspirin to prevent heart clots that raise the risk of heart attacks.

If that's what one pint a day will get you, think of what six or more could do for you...

And in all seriousness, that's exactly what most of this "research" really is.

Drinking lager does not yield the same benefits, experts from University of Wisconsin told a conference in the US.

However, Diageo, the company that now manufactures Guinness, said: "We never make any medical claims for our drinks."

o lord clearly this is some great marketting scam to bolster Guinness's floundering sales, thank the heavens we have seen through their schemes!

Now I wouldnt quite say that was fair - Guiness in ol' Blighty and out of a tap (Has to be both) is distinctly better than the can crap. But if you get the export stuff like we do.... then fuck yes agreed!

Like I said, Murphy's is flat out a better draught experience. It doesn't finish up ashy like Guinness tends to.

Irregardless, I still use the latter for irish carbombs. You don't have to bother with the quality of finish when you're dropping irish creme and whisky in it and relaxing throat muscles to rocket it in.

Never had Guinness before but if it's anything like the beers I do drink then all it's really good for is making me sleepy. But hey they make me sleep really fucking good. If I'm going for a buzz or drunkenness I prefer anything that is of the whiskey verity.
