GUYS THERE IS A GIANT GIANT COCKROACH SNEAKING ALONG MY SIDEBOARD I GUESS IT MUST HAVE SNUCK IN THROUGH THE FUCKING RIDICULOUS CRACKS UNDER THE DOORS AND OH GOD IT IS SO BIG AAAHH HOW THE FUCK DO I GET IT AWAY WITHOUT SCARING IT INTO THE CENTRE OF THE ROOM WHERE IT MIGHT CRAWL UP MY BED AND INTO MY MOUTH WHILST I'M SLEEPING.

OH GOD IT DISAPPEARED WHILST I WAS HUNTING DOWN AN ENCYCLOPAEDIA TO THROW AT IT WHERE'S IT GONE IT'S BEHIND THE LAUNDRY BASKET WHAT IF IT'S IN MY LAUNDRY AHHHH.

OH GOD OH GOD I SUMMONED UP THE COURAGE TO MOVE THE LAUNDRY BASKET AND THERE IS NO COCKROACH. THERE IS NOWHERE FOR COCKROACHES TO GO THERE. THE BASKET IS IN THIS LITTLE RIGHT ANGLED NOOK BETWEEN WALL AND TABLE. THE ONLY PLACE GIANT COCKROACHES CAN GO FROM THERE IS INSIDE THE BASKET.

SHUDDERSHUDDER.

I'M GOING TO WAKE UP IN THE MORNING WITH IT ON MY FACE, AREN'T I. :|

Well, yes, yes you are.

Just imagine it's a little lobster. YUM!

(I'm a bit skittish about little things that crawl about, too, though I've grown somewhat used to disposing of mice and birds that the cats bring in.)

As a great man once said...

HTFU!

You are 10,000 times the size and you have shoes.

It's times like this I always keep a can of Raid handy. If they're too big for Raid,

I feel like I should make some snarky British comment about guns... but damn, that is one sexy pile of technology.

As for a cockroach - would a line of salt around the bed help? Or does that only repel slugs?

See? This is why I stay in Canada. Nice normal sized bugs ;)

I slept under the covers. It appears to be gone but that's only because it's lulling me into a false sense of security while it breeds in the walls; it and it's 10, 000 babies are probably going to launch an attack at night when we're most vulnerable. AUGH.

Jun 10th, 2009, 02:04:51 PM
Dunno about that. It probably crawled into your mouth looking for a warm, moist place to incubate its spawn. Then you probably ate it in your sleep. Nom nom..;)

OH GOD WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT.

One time we were in Turkey, I went to the toilet and this huge cockroach thing was INSIDE THE TOILET and I was like uuuugh I need to wee so bad but there is a massive bug and it will crawl up out of the toilet and INSIDE OF ME but there were no other toilets and I was young so I had to go :cry it was one of the most traumatising moments of my life (so far)

JENNY. :glomp Come over here and we can huddle under a blanket and weep over our traumatizing insect encounters.

I wish it was a spider. I fucking love spiders. Stupid Hawaii and it's contamination laws; I can't bring my tarantulas over so they have to live with my brother who never even takes them out to play. :(

I showed that pic to Joe, and his response:

"Well, now I know where to go when the zombie apocolypse comes."

(He's been playing a LOT of L4D recently.)

Duh, everyone knows to go to Charley's in case of zombie apocalypse. ;)

We'll probably all be infected on the way over, yet still possess just enough functioning brain cells to remember where we were headed, so Charley will probably have to kill all of us.

Those bugs are freaking terrifying. *SHUDDER*

The worst is waking up while having a crawly feeling on your upper leg... then feeling it further down... then by your ankle... then finally figuring out you're not imagining it and waking up all the way to discover you've been turned into a spider's playground.

Or any bug, for that matter. :x

That's.... not right.

Though it kinda makes me miss my frog. At least he'd eat the mouse in one glomp.

Being a mouse would kind of suck for about a million reasons.

Pssht. You people are so squeamish. :mischief

Yeah, at the least be scared about actual dangerous bitey things

:twak

Honestly, it's not worth a scream until you realise your foot was about 3 cm away from a male Sydney Funnel Web spider. Or you are next to a pissed off Taipan. Or Death Adder. Or Drop Bear. Or Great White Shark. Or a hungry Stig.

Bloody wimps, cant imagine how you would be in a place where the creepy crawlies are actually... like.... lethal

Dasquian Belargic
Jun 11th, 2009, 12:34:35 AM
As a rule of thumb, I try to stay away from lethal things. Something about them being lethal makes me think.. maybe it would be sensible not to place any of my limbs within a close proximity to whatever mouth-like orifice they may have.

Seriously unless it can kill me it's no big deal. I did smash the hell out of a roach cause they're gross, screw 3 inch palmetto bugs.
