Hawkins Grime

The cruise liner, Luminescence, waits in the Corellian System for the last few shuttles and ships with passengers before it embarks. The ship makes month long voyages, hosting a wide variety of activities so that everyone, every age, every species can enjoy themselves from their renown casinos to the deck that is completely devoted to a safari-like environment. The cabins available range from Economy class accommodations, a small cubicle in which a person must lie down in order to get into, to the Premier class accommodations which was fit the going style of any royalty that might have, of which they usually did, to spend on it.
Having whichever accommodations does not include what privileges there were available on board though. An individual could have privileges ranking anywhere from Bronze to their new exclusive deal, Platinum, which was offered to distinguished guests only. Bronze, Silver, and Gold were the typical ranges most could afford. All three had access to the casinos but Bronze were limited to those and the observation decks. Silver had access to the recreation areas, which had... Well, recreation comes in many forms and none are to be discriminated against, at least that is what the company policy was. Gold status gave access to the upper luxury and designer decks as well as the museum on board.
The ship was massive, one of the larger of its make and the max capacity, which the business it held often tried to push to its limit, was approximately 7,000 passengers with a crew of 2,000 organic employees and a large number of robotic assistants. It was Corellian made and Corellian sponsored, having its own division of CorSec aboard that provided the security both internally and externally.
So if you're feeling lucky, and you need to take a break, come on down to the Corellia system where we, the crew of the Luminescence, are happily awaiting your arrival before we make our fabulous trip into the stars and make your stay with us the most memorable event of your life!
The data pad was gently set down at the small desk in the captain's quarters on board the Black Wyvern. The face of a Bothan smiled ridiculously, almost like a cartoon, at Grime which only served to aggravate him more.
"Captain..."
The vox beside the bed squawked the familiar dryness of Ithiel at the helm. Hawkins turned slightly, hissing through his teeth for moving, and flipping the switch.
"Go ahead."
"Sir, we're on board. The Luminescence has requested permission to come aboard and... greet us."
Hawkins breathed in as deeply as he could, regretting the impulse, and sighed painfully. They were not requesting. They wanted to scan the ship for contraband. It was there for sure but they would not find it.
"Granted. But they have ten minutes and we don't want to greet anyone. I want them in and out without a word."
"Yes sir."
The vox squawked as the channel was cut. Hawkins shifted, his metal encased arm reaching behind him to the body beneath the covers of his bed. His metal fingers traced the bare shoulder which shuddered at his touch. Not that he could appreciate the shudder. He was sure the metal was freezing to her skin but Grime's nerve endings were long dead and he was given no satisfaction or reciprocation but the remorse and utter dread of being deprived of anything that could even be remotely considered pleasure. He did not whisper but that was how it sounded as he almost spoke gently to the woman there.
"Valeria... My dearest vice..."
He stopped speaking abruptly though, something caught in his sensitive throat. He coughed out loud, his body seized in another episode of pain. His eyes glassed over and his gaze lost any remnant of tenderness there might have been as it brimmed with hatred for nothing in specific but for all reality in general. The coolness within the room faded quickly, replaced by an unnatural heat. Hawkins stood slowly, suddenly disregarding Valeria as he reached for the cloak and mantle to his exoskeleton.
"e'Drein..."
The vox squawked again in response.
"Yeah, Boss?"
"Get Averre to start up Kroma. I want her to go ahead and access the ship systems and start collecting the information we talked about. Make sure she has everything she needs."
"Right..."
"You're free to roam after that until I call for you, e'Drein."
"I'm on it, Boss."
The door to the captain's quarters opened and the hot air rushed in, nearly a cool breeze tried to replace it. He figured he might as well "greet" the inspection crew as it were.
