You seem to remember incorrectly, you great arse! Just because I enjoy the odd Southern Comfort once in a while doesn't mean I equate it to bourbon. Having said that, the only tequila I can ever recall having is José Cuervo, and that is because it is the staple brand they sell in this awesome sweaty little tequila bar in town called Ca Va. They have other varieties, of course, and all kinds of absynthe, and a tequila-infused beer called Desperados.

The wall behind the bar is full of shelves of José Cuervo, all different flavours too; apple, pear, peach, jelly bean(jelly beans in bottle), baked bean(baked beans in bottle), cough candy, mint, chilli, the list goes on and on. Always fun, plays some great eclectic music, gets far too packed on a Friday and Saturday night but it's the price we pay for our grungy little booze hole.

Patron's what most folks would say, but I think it's a bit expensive for what you get, just because it's the "big name" tequila. Their Anejo is just about worth the money, but their silver is not.

My favorite go-to is Herradura's Reposado, which is a nice fragrant golden tequila. It's certainly one you can shoot naked, but it's also fine with salt and lime.

I'd get a bloody slap! And rightly so! If I was on a tequila sampling course or something then perhaps that argument would hold some water but really, let's have some perspective here and admit that it's okay to slum it with the rest of the mortals on a humble boozing budget.

As for decent tequila... I've always found Patron to be horribly overrated. Don Julio was the first "pricey" tequila I tried and remains to be my favorite on that end.

Uhh... middle-groundish stuff... Milagro's pretty good, Cazadores isn't bad either. AsomBroso (despite the funny bottle) is actually pretty good as well.

However... Corralejo is godly (thank you Lyk!). :yum Always have a giant bottle of it on hand. Always.

Usually I just go for the Reposados... but occasionally springing for the Añejo is just effing worth it at times.

Got dragged out for another "quick drink" last night. Wound up in some dive called Foundry. Sort of a haven for graffiti artists, so pretty much every surface in the joint - including the toilets o_o - were covered in tags, slogans, and graphics. We managed to score the private room things, but unfortunately the lights didn't work, so we had about a dozen of us huddled around on a weird assortment of sofas, stools, and school chairs, trying to hold conversations by the light of three of those teeny night light candles.

Even so, awesome night out. My work friends rock. :cool

Found a store called Vulcan Beverages. Simply put, it's awesome. I hosted some friends and we had 32 beers in the fridge, all unique bottles, and most were things I've never had. Before passing out, I distinctly remember a Japanese barleywine ale, a Brooklyn dark chocolate stout, La Fin du Monde, Stile Nacht, a chipotle IPA from Rogue, and a few more belgians.

Night well spent.
