The Russard Social Event Wants YOU!

So...the Russards are having a party - and you are invited.

Well, you ARE if you think you belong at an elegant dinner party and can rub shoulders with the well-heeled and/or high ranking Imperials and Citizens of the Empire in order to celebrate the new Empress Miranda Tarkin.

It will be held at the Russard Estate, Imperial Center and there is a formal dress code. There is insane Security and no riff-raff will be admitted. We expect quite a representation from the Inquisitoriate, the Russards having strong business and personal ties with them, so just keep that in mind. If however, you have a character that can pass themselves off as Coruscant Elite, by all means, please come.

It will be an open RP and I hope to create a little more interaction between the Russard men and other members of Imperial Center at large. And also to get a sense of what our characters feel about this historic new development.

I cannot think of a legitimate way to have Hob crash this party like he did Vega's funeral. I cannot think of a legitimate reason for Redik to care enough to crash this party because the Empire doesn't matter to him yet.

Should I be unable to crash this party under any of my characters, it will go on the list of my greatest regrets, right next to "failing to create a perfect anal bum cover."

1. Being another character needing to be further in place with Estelle from another thread and

2. This week has been crazy busy for me IRL and

3. Been mulling over an a 'twist' in the story to make it more interesting than a simple suare with the rich and infamous - the intro post will be important ;)

I will be starting this by Sunday if I can get enough time.

Just a couple things to note:

Ive started the post at a later point in the evening, then jumped to the beginning of the night. This is so, if you dont want your character to be ensconced in the basement...you can have them leave prior to that event.

Also, the scenario is such that anyone who wants to be in the thread, but not at the party itself, can still participate in what is happening out in the Imperial Center proper.

Posting order is not strict, but it needs to be kept considerate. In other words, if a conversation is going between a couple of guests, its ok to post a few times to keep the flow. Just dont continue to the exclusion of other posters so that its pages before we see them again :)

Way I read it was that the point in time when all the guests are there (or some have left already) during the meteor storm...is basically a what is to come/later in the evening.

The actual party stuff (as in...where we'll all be hopping in now)...people are just starting to arrive or will be arriving any moment. ...at least. I think so.

The thread's prologue is indeed set in the future, but the "current time" of the thread is just at the party's beginning. See posts quoted below.


The guests had begun arriving fifteen minutes ago and Russard found himself rising to the occasion.


"Roger," Jason inclined his head at the approaching figure. "How are the guests? Has everyone arriving been accounted for?"

People are coming in now, and they are being confirmed against the projected guest list to make sure they are not party crashers.

An FYI on this character: Roger is the chief of security and logistics for the night and in the personal employ of the Russards. He knows most of the people arriving by sight if not by having met with them previously, so any uninvited non-celebrities (read, the people not supposed to be there) may find themselves meeting the business end of his foot.

On the other hand, anyone with a reasonable celebrity or authority (read, the people who it makes sense to be there) can just wander on in and don't have to RP meeting Roger to confirm they are okay to come in (though it might be fun :)). This character is not supposed to be an undue barrier to entry or a door-greeter in the literal sense, only the dimly visible presence of a barrier between the party and anything that might disrupt it.

Sorry I've neglected this thread for a while, but for those who are still interested in it, I am moving it along so that the meteor storm will start soon - after the actual dinner basically. So, anything that you want to achieve with your chars should be set up and concluded either before the fire starts falling from heaven, or concluded when folks are huddling for safety in the basement.

Again, apologies for my slackness (Its the usual reason - no time vs no imagination).

Also, if you need a character to interact with your char or set the stage for what you want to accomplish, posting a request in this thread might be a good idea. :)

Also, Ive take the liberty of seating some people next to each other in my last post just to shuffle things up a little, but you can shift your self around as you see fit.

Its ok to move any of my characters - Eliessa or even Kajeela, she wouldnt mind Sarah having her switch at all. Also, Jeels is in the right spot at time of posting, she can just see everyone at the tables clearly with them all seated.
