Sort of like the reputation system, but befuddled as to how it works? BE CONFUSED NO LONGER! These handy facts will help to dispel the fog of wft that surrounds the reputation system. :)

Default Rep (what users recieve upon registration) = 10 pts

How many ratings displayed in ones User CP = 10 ratings

For every X number of days, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power. = 365 days

For every X number of posts, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power. = 1000 posts

For every X points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power. = 100 rep points

How many posts must a user have before his reputation hits count on others? = 50 posts

How much reputation must a user have before his reputation hits count on others? = 10 rep points (given upon registration)

How many reputation clicks can a user give over each 24 hour period? Administrators are exempt from this limit. = 10 clicks

How many different users must you give reputation to before you can hit the same person again? Administrators are exempt from this limit. = 7 users

Also you can now view an archive of your reputation comments, and even see the comments you've given others in your User CP.

Admins used to give out 10 points per click, BUT I changed it so that we are judged by the same standard as everyone else. Which is why I now award 19 points and Dasq gives out 15. HA! I mean, so... now you know. :uhoh

Any questions?

Was kinda wondering how all that worked...

So if I click that I approve a post, it gives 1 rep point? vs if Desq approves it gives 15?

Correct.

The longer you are here + the more posts you accumulate = more points to give out per click.

OP edited with new info - Ogre has installed a hack that allows us to access an archive of reputation given and received via our User CP. Enjoy!

Hey, I was wonderng why I could suddenly view all the reputation I'd gotten instead of just the past five hits.

Thanks Big Green! I was planning on using that as guide of good stuff I'd written. :)

I have a question now: in the archive, the Reps have little coloured bars next to them. Most are green, but others are dark blue. What's the deal with that?

Grey ones are neutral, meaning the person giving you rep didn't have 50 posts yet so you technically get a nice comment (or whatever) but no points.

Red ones are negative, green are positive.

There shouldn't be any blue ones. :p

Nice to know: What happens when I get to level 60? Do I get an epic mount then?

I've been curious as to how the reputation system works for a while, and have been meaning to ask. This answers all my questions very neatly. Thank you.

OHHHH. So rep power is how much you give out. And it's based on how long you've been here, too.

I was wondering how some of my characters seemed to have more all of a sudden. :uhoh

Bumping this. I will rewrite this to be current with our system today and repost it.
