Well, it's an absurd notion to put this big taboo on drinking alone because just like with everything else it comes down to moderation and common sense. The same could be said for eating a lot of sweets while alone at home or drinking lots of fizzy drinks or smoking or gambling while sitting home alone. There's nothing wrong with chilling at home drinking beer once in a while, as long as you don't make a habit out of it.
