Tempted. -strokes chin- Quite. I wish the wiki had more information. :|

In any case, count me in. I can't think of anything right now, since I know so little about the Ciz and threads of reference simply aren't coming to mind. Hard to research that way.

If I'm missing something on the wiki, I apologize... but do the Cizerack have some kind of religious caste?

Darven

Well, well...

I believe i could reactivate my Cizerack self. Maybe another female.
As for references ;) - well, you know what i can do.

In any case, count me in. I can't think of anything right now, since I know so little about the Ciz and threads of reference simply aren't coming to mind. Hard to research that way.

What would you like to know?

As far as a religious caste, not really. What's been invented is here -

Saanjarra The ancient Cizerack were nomadic, following the sun as the seasons changed and prey moved across the great plains of Carshoulis Prime (http://www.sw-fans.net/forum/../wiki/index.php?title=Carshoulis_Prime). As their culture progressed some began to settle and plant crops, finding it was beneficial to have food growing in one place, and to domesticate the non-intelligent beasts. The Cizerack were dependant on the sun for food, warmth, and life. Thusly they began to worship Saanjarra, the Sun Goddess.

Most of their worship revolved around offerings of the firsts of the harvests, or through carnal knowledge of one of Saanjarra's servants. The temples that were erected to Saanjarra were kept by the Priestesses of the Sun, or in Cizerack, the tataur'aasa'saanja. The tataur'aasa'saanja would oversee the offerings and facilitate the use of the temple prostitutes, or nomaa'aasa'saanja (predominately male, though some half-breed females were honored by being allowed to serve Saanjarra in this way). The kraa'aasa'saanja numbered in the hundreds of thousands at the height of the religion, and to become one was considered a very respectable way for an un-mated male to live out his life.

Hundreds of years ago, every female would worship at the nearest temple at least once a week, though in modern days only the Cizerack in rural areas still hold fast to the belief in the Sun Goddess. However, all Cizerack pay Saanjarra lip service, whether they believe in her or not.

Nomaani
As the sun had the moon, so did Saanjarra have her partner, Nomaani. This lesser god was manservant to the Sun Goddess, and was worshipped by Cizerack males. Typical to Cizerack society, believers were called to show their worth to Nomaani through hard work and by obeying their mistresses. Only by being humble and obedient to their female, and satisfying her every earthly desire, would a male earn a place at her right hand side in the heavens after death.

Traanjirra
Sister to Saanjarra, Traanjirra is the goddess of the Underworld, or jirra'rrou (lit. burning undernearth). Unmated, and scorned by her sister the Sun, Traanjirra spends her time tempting the Cizerack into joining her in jirra'rrou. She desires a mate above all else, but Saanjarra has made it so she will never have one. The wicked dead are carried off to jirra'rrou by Traanjirra, where the goddess rules in her land of liquid fire. She is doomed to ever burn with kree'rrou, without any hope of consumation.
Traanjirra will appear as a nubile maiden to the living, hoping to trick them into joining her in her damnnation.

Most successful Cizerack females who venture from the Cluster are business women, or in the military. Males, of course, go with their females.

Because they are such a capitalistic and business minded society, smuggling, pirating, etc, are all punishable by death. So, smuggling in (or near the Cluster in disputed space, such as Calan) is highly dangerous.

Any news was good news
And the feeling was bad at home
I was out of mind and you
Were on the phone
Lonnie was the kingpin
Back in nineteen sixty-five
I was singing this song
When Lonnie came alive

Bring back the Boston Rag
Tell all your buddies
That it ain't no drag
Bring back the Boston Rag

You were Lady Bayside
There was nothing that I could do
So I pointed my car down
Seventh Avenue
Lonnie swept the playroom
And he swallowed up all he found
It was forty-eight hours til
Lonnie came around

Bring back the Boston Rag
Tell all your buddies
That it ain't no drag
Bring back the Boston Rag

Some things I didn't write into the wiki, exactly, like Ciz mating ceremonies (weddings) are basically huge orgies for the guests.

Cizerack = sex + love of money

I'm considering the idea of having them reach out to the Hapans for an alliance. Matriarchal societies ftw!

edit: and while half-breeds are omnivorous, full bloods are definitely carnivorous. Raw is good, alive is better. In a Cizerack home you will find a feeding pit instead of a dining room table, where the 'meal' is led in and then devoured.

Well, generally... I hadn't thought that far.

I think that there might be a little RPing inside the Cluster, but mostly everything takes place in other places, right? So a business woman would have reason to venture into other places. Or a military woman.

I like the idea of adding a few more feline features... though this is very few; I did this in less than ten minutes working with Holly's picture. Added a dark tip with some texture to the nose, a cleft to the upper lip, and lengthened the tear ducts slightly. I could do something with the eyes, too, like enlarge the irises and make the pupils more slit-shaped. I feel there should be more of a sense that you're looking at something exotic and not quite human.

Of course, I know that it's all moot unless I add a Ciz character of my own...

I decided to try my hand at a male Ciz using one of the Narnian centaurs as a starting point. I also wanted to try something a little different with the facial markings:

Yes... sorry about that! I didn't get to check this thread until now so I spent all day thinking of a new face when Emma Thompson came to mind... and now she's stuck in my head.

SO yeah, this is my Priestess character. Thought the Priestesses could maybe all adopt part of the title into their names upon becoming one, so the Tataur'aa part would be the Priestess title, and Sansarrcka would be made up of San (the first part of the word Sun) and her real first name. In private, her name is Sarrckaassa Nesseerruu.

Loklorien s'Ilancy
Feb 6th, 2009, 04:53:52 PM
Clever nomenclature!

Is there a requisite priestly garb that they wear?

Tataur'aa Sansarrcka
Feb 6th, 2009, 05:02:24 PM
I'd figure something like the ancient greeks had their women wear, only more revealing at the top and extremely short at the bottom. A priestess tunic that shows a lot of cleavage and that ends right below the butt. Maybe in white or sunny colors.

Keerrourri Feessaarro
Feb 6th, 2009, 05:29:12 PM
If you're wanting to go all greco-roman religious type here, you'll want to make sure it's something a bit free, as they were keen on not wearing anything with bindings or fastenings because that was to restrict their communion with the gods or somesuch.

That may be too much needless information though.

There's the outfit for my temple slave guy. I guess it fits into the classical antiquity thing, and the easy access, what with it being a kilt and all.

Nya Halcyon
Feb 6th, 2009, 06:05:22 PM
I think temple slaves should simply wear a loin cloth. I'd say have them go nude but that'd probably be against the sig rules so.... but there's nothing that would give easier access and all....

Hence my idea.... now, if one could adapt this pic: http://images.beijing2008.cn/20080324/Img214278804.jpg

Working on the wiki, adding planets and planet information for the Cluster.

So far I have... well, nothing really. I'm adding information for Calan right now.
Carshoulis Prime
Fey'dann
Calan
and a newly invented planet, Cana'darri, where their main military shipyards are located. We need at least ten more. Names, if nothing else. We can assume most inhabited planets in the Cluster are agricultural in nature, though there is certainly room and should be for non-liveable planets with bizarre climates like Hoth or Tatooine.

http://www.sw-fans.net/archive/forum/showthread.php?threadid=34255&highlight=Calan found a good thread from 6 years ago about the Cizerack. :)
